  1. what other option do we have? admit defeat, say 'we're f****d anyway lets just not vote' Not trying to start an argument either but Ireland isnt the thriving utopia is it..? lack of foreigners aye but theres also a lack of everything else, north not so much but certainly the south, economy, jobs etc. Im seeing lots and lots more irish over here especially where my missis works in the hospital, in there own words because theres 'just no jobs' over there.
  2. im moving to brotton in november and in two minds wether to get a yak or all the lads who have em trade em in and all put in for a decent boat. id feel safer if it took a turn on a boat. i surf so know the sea is to be respected. you got a kayak yourself mate?
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=y_RKEhT6-f8 well said.....grim, but there might be one person on here iv missed lol im struggling to disagree with anything hes said...or any policies. He talks and i find myself getting involved at the computer screen, almost bloody clappin in agreement. People are waking up.
  4. Well lads, its almost become a cliche on this board so i won't speak their name. You all know the only party that can save us now, preaching to the converted. I know 100% which party ill be voting for and my missis, and my little brother too whos just come of voting age.
  5. let us know how you get on marra. couple of my mates are big into the kayak fishing at the minute, been going off the grove, up to a mile out, nothing too specific i dont think, and bringing cod every time. 5-10 fish. sometimes a mixture of mackerel and pollock too, but mainly cod.obviously not a big haul but hes been having em in every time.
  6. yeah it says that on the address, if you google liverton mines chippy, you can get there from the moor road. Turn off at the signposted liverton village, drive past the water wheel pub and then you come down to the mines. its a long road lined with bungalows, its on your left.but like i said you have to look for it because it just looks like a bungalow.
  7. i retract it then haha! must be hit and miss, but iv been there on a few good days. liverton mines is outstanding though you been there? ive not heard anyone have anything bad to say about it. give it a try if not.
  8. did you go inside or from the chippy bit? ive not been inside but heard its overpriced. Must be doing something right though, people still pay it. the prices in the chippy bit arent bad like. nice too. Used to be a better one over the other side of the river do you know on the abbey side? mr chips or something but thats overpriced now, portions are shocking. Places win a few awards and thats it, down the shitter.
  9. Ive not been to many further afield but the magpie cafe in whitby is real nice. caf is always heaving, have to cue to get in, but they've recently opened a takeaway chippy just underneath (you have to go up steps to get to the cafe itself) and you dont have to cue round the block to get in. If anyone is going to go off the beaten track though, best chippy in my local area i can safely say is at a place called liverton mines. its not hard to find but blink and you'll miss it. they've converted a bungalow in the middle of a row of bungalows into a chippy. Absolutely lovely, you'll want to li
  10. good idea mate I'll look see if theres one local. Im sure one or two would yeah, I wouldn't ask people who dont own dogs/know the dog and his behaviour. So then at least they're just picking my dog up on the way out to walk their own, and they know how he acts/reacts in certain situations. Sometimes a bairn might not be the best to walk a hunting dog.
  11. https://www.(!64.56:886/Horse.Racing.Tip?fref=ts If you're on facebook, like that page, he should post some later. Class page mate ive had plenty of good tips off there. i dont think ive ever had a duff one. even one the other night that was 25/1 i said 'nah im not putting my money on that' and it came in....first an all he had it on E/W was supposed to be there myself but my mates were all dithering and umming and arring. Have a good en mate, you's have got the weather for it.
  12. Yeah thats pretty much what the rig is so a few friends have said. 12 hours on 12 off...so you come home from work, your room mate is leaving for work, changed, gym, eat, shower, sleep. Then do it all again. No I am getting the piss taken out of me at my current job, when i finished my apprenticeship around 6 months ago, they said they were going to pay me 18k a year (instead of 26) because i 'havent got experience' Yet im still doing the same work load as a man on 26. Cop out. So this is going to aleviate so much. Yeah obviously like i said its no competition between the two. job, nice ho
  13. Thanks lads. that wasn't the response i expected but its the one i wanted. Haha No bob not pissed. Id just hate to get a dog and not give it the home/exercise it deserves. I know my missis it too soft with them and cant even watch me skin anything never mind take the dog outfor a run. I have a few mates who might tho, so thats a good idea id go with. Too many people work onshore and are lazy with dogs, i dont want to come back and the pup be destroying everything and misbehaving because of a lack of exercise, or the bond not be very good between us. By the sounds of it tho im worry
  14. any of you lads work off shore? Ive got the opportunity to, its 2 on 3 off. wage is typical of offshore, it would make my time home decent, home life nice, house nice, family secure etc. etc. However, I want to get myself my first lurcher, and posibly a gun dog when i apply for my shotgun licence. so its something id like to know, would i be able to own a dog and work away a little? I think i already know the answer, although im home for 3 weeks, im away for two. I know i wont be winning any races, lurcher competitions etc. but could i still have a decent standard of dog, and provi
  15. neither does fury, last time someone got near him and stuck a good overhand right on him, he hit the deck, fast...in round 2 of the steve cunningham fight. granted he came back to win, but he doesnt have an iron chin like people make out. now steve cunninghams style is similar to hayes, but not as refined. fast for a heavyweight, hard punches. Hes no mug, but hes not on hayes level. Haye does fury inside 6 rounds if he stops putting ridiculous terms in front of him. as for knocking haye out? i cant see that either, hes never been knocked out. The only time hayes been stopped was years

  17. i hope it picks up soon. went out when i was a kid, years ago on the saxon lady, dont think shes there any more. been promising myself a trip soon, but i might hang on by the sounds of it. shame really, fingers crossed it picks up.
  18. well the owner hasnt even got the strength to say no to pies, so shes got no chance of telling a dog not to do something. In all seriousness, dogs, big or small, can be bred in a kitchen in the roughest estate possible, by the roughest druggy/car theif possible, and sold to similar characters...ie whoever knocks at the door with enough money to buy one. my point being, bread by dick heads, bought and owned by dick heads, end up with a dog who hasn't been taught right from wrong, or who doesnt have an owner who gives a shit wether it can walk to heel without charging for other dogs, or
  19. i like the look of that white dog. Is this redcar by any chance mate? I was at sands end with my tribe, warm enough for a swim out as well, bit nicer views than redcar now them big fans have gone up haha
  20. ill tell you what if an inspector JUMPED my fence and took my dogs, if by some miracle i managed to find the strength to let him leave my street with all of his teeth and face intact. He'd be getting a charge of trespass brought against him. civilians in blue jumpers, thats no different to the bloody neighbour jumping the fence and taking the dogs. I can see in the next few years it fizzling out, not totally, but certainly centres being shut down due to lack of funds. absolute pests they are doing stuff like this. They'd simply get the same question plod have ever got if they turned up
  21. That sounds similar to the old pacman/floyd 'steroid test' mess about again. except floyd is major leagues and really CAN call shots in boxing. Fury is an absolute joke. Hes saying that because i genuinely think, in his mind, he is worth that and that is how the split should go...and also because he knows hes in for a hiding and hes putting things in the way, knowing Haye wont take that, ultimately to dodge the fight.
  22. Haye can knock a horse out. Fury is an overconfident pudding...only way this is going is a very confused fury waking up after haye snaps him like a wet rich tea biscuit. Within 6 rounds.
  23. deserved it...boxed well, aggresive enoough for there to not be any doubt. good fight
  24. I'm there Monday. Only day we could make it due to Missis at work (bloody nhs) haha! If anyone fancies meeting for a pint drop me a pm...I'm sure I could squeeze a swift one in with a few fellow the members
