Had been training springer myself up until about 2 months ago. Although she was doing ok, started using a trainer to try and tidy / sharpen things up. Problem now is that when I take her to a lesson she isn't doing as she is ask. So have been told just to go back to basics. However when training at home she will do the basics, and retrieve, and hunt when asked. Could it be that she is getting bored at a lesson because she is been made to sit and stay repeatedly. I know the obedience has got to be spot on, but is taking the fun training away from the dog causing the problem. The other thing is

She gets rewarded with treat and/or make a big fuss of her.

Got a twenty week old springer pup a fortnight ago, and starting to have problems with her coming back when called. When first got her she was ok she would come back, but now she is getting used to the place she is starting to ignore or if she does respond she will run towards me and past. Anybody with any tips as to how to get her to come to call again? Would it be an idea to run her on a long lead, so that I have a way of encouraging her back?

Took my six year old springer to the vets yesterday for annual booster vaccination. Vet checked her over and everything was fine. When we came home all was fine, then last night all she wanted to do was lay down. Took her out and she was out of character and sick. She has been sick again this morning and muck is loss. She has no go in her and doesn't really want to walk. She was injected with Canigen Lepto2 (previously been done with Nobivac Lepto2 and had no reaction) has anyone else had these problems and how long are they going to last!!

I am looking for beating around Leicestershire / Northamptonshire area. I have recently moved into the area and looking for beating opportunities. I am 31 and have been beating for the last few season, and have a part trained springer. Unfortunately due to work commitments I can only do alternate weekends (first been 1st Dec) and possibly some weekdays. Dan

Hi all, new to this forum. I'm looking for some beating around leicestershire and northants. Been beating for the last 4 or 5 season, but have moved into the area so looking for the oppurtunity. I have a part trained springer and would like to do more with her. Unfortnuatly due to work commitments can only do alternate saturdays (first been 1st Dec) and maybe some week days. Any help would be welcome
