  1. I lost my lakey x 5yr old bitch last wed morn 13th Feb, while out for a morning stroll with a mate n his spaniels. Old railway embankment (disused) nth east lincs. been searching since. Suspect shes gone to ground chasing rabbit. No sign, no marks from my other terrier or mates terriers. Description- Black and Tan rough haired Lakeland cross pat, quite leggy. "Tess" Appreciate any info if shes spotted (if she's above ground) Grimsby, Holton Le Clay,Tetney,Nth Thoresby area . Big thanks to Andy & Dave for their help ........the search goes on
  2. Great news, hope he makes a full recovery. Atb
  3. Thanks again Dymented,I appreciate the offer and would have taken and will take any offer of help if i got a mark.I have tried my other terrier and my mates terriers who are spot on at marking and going to ground they know the terrain real well, but we have struggled to get anything conclusive ( too much fresh scent confusing the dogs) Didn't think its would be right getting bodies down to help if I ain't got a clue where she is. I've been alternating the search between me and a mate covering as much ground as we can during daylight. At the mo just going down there and listening in every hole
  4. 6 days and no sign of her. Gutted............
  5. Good luck with ya dog fella. You've done all u can for him, fingers crossed. Atb
  6. No. Been looking everyday since last Wed. Absolutely no sign of her?!! Thought I had a good mark late yesterday, mates terriers looked keen around a hole. Stuck my head in and heard something digging, turned out to be a f**kn rabbit.
  7. Rang F&MWTC on Fri and got some sound advice from Mick the nearest rep to me. Thanks
  8. Still no luck. Tried another terrier with a collar, no mark just in and out of a variety of holes. Mate lent me mic, mini amp and headphones and fixed mic to some drain rods, seemed sensitive enough but she's not making and sound. Dug out the openings to all the obvious holes and have had my head up them all for the last 4 days. Still nothing? Maybe she didn't go to ground in the area I'm looking, although I've widened my search or maybe she didn't go to ground at all. The thing is she is real good at coming back. Hope she's been picked up somewhere. There are some stables on the other side of
  9. Tried terrier with collar on 1st day, no mark, just went in and out. Tried it again today and thought we had a mark, had a dig n pulled out terrier attached to a rabbit. Gutted! Dug out most of the obvious holes, enough to get my head right in, not getting anything. She ain't a dog that runs off, she's real good at recall.
  10. Between Grimsby and Louth. Tried terriers and spaniels to get a mark up to now, seems to be too much fresh scent around to get anything conclusive. Was just out for a stroll with a mate of mine, not working her, momentarily took my eye off her when spaniel and my bitch took . Been told it might look a bit suspect if I collar her up while walking her down there as there are a few places shes not allowed to go in along that walk. But yes i agree, i wouldn't be in this position if she had been wearing one.
  11. Day 3 Nothing yet. Seems to be a lot of fresh scent (rabbits) which is making it hard to get a decent mark. She's a quiet dog so she ain't making any noise. Cheers for the offer Donator.

I'm popping back to look before and after work - any tips? She has done this before and was dug out a day lat
  14. Muck Boot - I should be on commission !
  15. Wetland- I bought a size 10, I'm a 9, had a pair of size 9 Muddies only lasted a year, got them online found they were a bit small, went for a bigger size when I got Mucks. Sweat like f**k if u got em on all day, but great as a winter boot.
  16. Muck boot every time, tried a cheaper pair, only lasted a year. Go for the heavy duty sole.
  17. Go for the heavy duty Muck Boot, had similar pair of neoprene wellies with soft sole, nightmare walking through rough ground, got thorns thro sole.
  18. Found that rat will sit in hole even after a good smoking. When clearing hedge row next to cover strip, going back to holes that you've had no bolt tend to come up with the goods 2nd time round. Always trust a good mark! Never dug very deeper than a foot rattin, depends where u r.
  19. Any thoughts on the type of oil ur burning in ya smoker? Tried a few different types, I'm sure you get better results with original stuff but its pricey tried all sorts of mixtures, trouble is like OldNog says u don't now what effect it has on your dogs nose let alone ur own. Cant beat a good pack of dogs that work well together, markers, diggers and the blood thirsty hungry f**ckers that want to chew.
  20. Definitely a case of a problem shared......funny thing now is, I've been out with her since and she stays very close. Maybe it's me just keeping a close eye on her or has the whole experience spooked her, if only! I'm pretty sure and most will agree, give it a couple more outings and she will be up to her old tricks. Mmmm.......Tracker collar for Christmas ?
  21. Every Terrier owners nightmare. Sat morning stroll through the country turned out to be 24hrs of hell. Out exercising my two terrier bitches, Tess 4 yr old rough Pat x Lakeland bitch & Pip 1 yr old pup, keeping one eye on the pair of them as well as having a heart to heart with my good lady, they picked up the scent of a rabbit and give chase into a culvert. Quickly realising they have strayed into a off limits cow field (No beasts around, fortunately - except the mrs of course!) A quick blast of the whistle soon caught the attention of the pup who dutifully jumped out of the ditch and c
