  1. The rifle was a .22 model, it was around 8 degrees outside when I tested it, but I'd had the canister in my pocket for a while to warm it up before I used it. I must admit I've become quite intrigued by this rifle since using it and reading more about it. Could be a good little rifle for ratting, if bought and fitted with the tuning kit achieving more power. I'm seriously thinking about it.
  2. My concern was only using one bulb would give half the power, but this is not the case from the replies, just less shots but the same power. I shot one over my chrono but it was only achieving 6 foot pound at best, they are stated as being 10 foot pound new, but the one I used was an older model. I wondered if the lack of power was because I only used one full bulb and an empty. But this seems not to be the case. My other question is that the 12g co2 bulb had been in my possession for quite a few years as I use them with my pistol but hadn't used it for some number of years. Is it possible
  3. Does using one full canister instead of two not result in low power then i.e reduced feet per second?
  4. got my F1 chronograph this week, so decided to test my weihrauch hw99s with a selction of pellets ive been using lately. Have to say the F1 was easy to setup and use, an excellent tool and a great investment for any air gunner. If your thinking of getting one then do it I say. using pyramid air air gun energy calculator of the net I got the following results, all used in .22 calibre: crosman premier ultra magnum 14.3gr - 11.42 foot pound / 15.49 joules RWS superdome 14.5 gr - 11.57 foot pound / 15.69 joules RWS superpoint extra 14.5 gr - 11.49 foot pound / 15.57 joules I shot som
  5. it must only work of the one co2 canister, the other must just be a spare used as to fill out the cylinder.
  6. does the smk qb78 deluxe use both the 12g co2 cannisters at the same time when inserted in the rifle back to back, or is only one in use and then switch when the one is empty?
  7. went out earlier bagged another couple of rats. think I need a better ir source as the im struggling with picture quality, think I may need to try something else.
  8. ok cheers, I'll see how I get on next week.
  9. went out sat night got a couple of rats using my new sony handycam nv setup, bit annoyed as i saw another 3 but they kept hidden and didnt want to come out in the open, After i shot 2 the others became very shy, I'd left the dead ones where they dropped, should I have removed them and then tried for the others or would that not made any difference?
  10. I tried it on the scope originally but its reflecting back off summat and putting glare on the scope. It seems to be working better right up front under the silencer. I'll see how I get on tomorrow night if it stays dry.
  11. I've sorted it made a focal cover for my ir torch, picture seemed alot clearer with it on. roll on sat so I can get some rats!
  12. Handycam fitted to scope, fitted my ir torch under my barrel, can see picture out to 15 metres just cant focus it so it's really clear, got the scope on lowest mag 3, if I focus on lowest setting the cross hairs are clear but the poa is blurry, focus back ground and cross hairs disappear. The handycam is being manually focused and steady shot is turned off. Am I doing something wrong?
  13. Like it, I'm waiting for my ir torch so I can do some nv ratting, haven't been for a few weeks, not much fun freezing your ass off in this weather at the moment, but it's got to warm up the weekend round here.
  14. I'm putting it on a hawke sport hd 3-9 x 40 on a hw99s
  15. my sony handycam came today, it does show the picture as normal if you turn upside down. so all is well. I have to say I was impressed with the night shot function, it was very clear at 3m with just its own ir light source. but when its on a scope might be a different story?, I'll have to wait for my lens ring adapter to turn up so I can mount it to my scope. ordered a ir ultrafire cree torch, anyone used one in conjunction with a sony handycam, they any good? only going to be shooting at probably 15 yards tops ratting, so hopefully it will be adequate for that. anyone whos already made a hand
  16. I think it will remain the same just upside down on playback. Well at least I hope so, as I've bought a handycam but it will need to mount it upside down because of clearance between the scope and stock.
  17. if you turn your sony handycam upside down does the picture in the view finder display upside down, or does it display as normal?
  18. tell her if she don't stop it you'll be getting a divorce
  19. Thanks for the info I didn't realise you turned the drum manually. My friends dad had one in the 90's I always liked the thought of a repeater, it's obviously not something that took off in, or called for in spring rifles. I just like the style of pcp rifles keeping your point of aim and reloading, but I think it's a lot of faffing about using tanks and filling the gun, I like the simplicity of a springer cock and shoot.
  20. unusual guns there, before my time a little lol 90's kid here
  21. between the theoben slr 98 and bsa goldstar which would you put your money on?
  22. Is there a modern equivalent to the BSA gold star which had a ten shot mag?
  23. lol you obviously have never rode a bike over any decent duration or terrain to come out with a comment like that that, burning 7000 calories a day doesn't come without pain and graft. cycling is the only sport we are dominating, I'd rather see him knighted than some of the idiots who get to be.
