No worries mate thanks for the reply, just doing abit of research on a cartridge im using! I used to use eley high flyers and now using rottweil specials, a good match for me as they are putting out exactly the same mv! The rottweils seem a better cartridge!

Just wondering if 1254fps at the muzzle is slow average or quick for a game load? cheers c.h

Did any one see the crazy american guy making cut shells and showing us what they can do! He says it basicly turns a 12g into a 70cal!! I would never try this myself but apparently they were widely used during the great depression and still used today in america to hunt deer! the accuracy was phenominal and stoping power looked unreal!

I aggree the open chokes do limit to an extent! However you can also adjust the way the gun chokes the shot by using different cartridges but as a general rule 40 yards plus you will struggle at times to acheive clean kills/ breaks consistently! Alot of game guns are very open choked but these were most probably for walked up game! I use 1/4 and 1/2 in my o/u and it kills great at range you dont nead more choke than this inless your shooting seriously high birds! atb C.H

They saw somthing the didnt like which could be alot of things, wind direction,,lack of movement as birds might be shy and may have been decoyed before, or set up not convicing enough! Well my freind this is the secret to decoying, if you can reconise whats put them off and fix it, you will be a great decoyer, only experience brings this and its a game thats always changing every outing is different, so best thing to do is do a bit if research and get stuck in! good luck
