What Da Fuk....mike Tyson And Stone Cold Steve Austin Having A Go
NELS0N replied to jigsaw's topic in General Talk
I still think it'd take more than one of them show ponys to knock old collins lights out, that guy had some chin. -
Where do I start? There is a lot of misinformation bandied about on forums by people who have never set a net at night. Unfortunately people who know no better believe what they read. Will 6z catch rabbits? Answer yes. Will 6z catch as many rabbits as 4z? Never as long as you have a hole in your ar$e. I have a 4z net here that is over 30 years old and it has some patches in it, does it still catch rabbits? Hell yes. Just remember a rabbit can chew through a 6z net just as fast as a 4z. As for cutting up a net learn how to mend them there is a tutorial as a sticky in this section. TC

Les, I prefer the 4.25 for my double stranded polyester nets. But for 4z as it stretches quite a bit I still prefer the 4". But and it is a big but, that is because of the size of the full grown rabbits we have here. Over the years I have noticed a wide difference in the size of the rabbits around the country. Some of the biggest rabbits I have seen have come from the dales, man they are huge compared to ours. Even local to us there is a variation in size, on the coast you have rabbits that are on average half a pound smaller as a full grown rabbit than rabbits from inland. About 6 or 7 ye

I get asked all the time what's best 4 or 6z, i think this is one time in life where the cheaper option is the better one, weighs less and catches more rabbits so its 4z every time for me. A good killing net will always pick up debris. You now have a choice of mesh size, i prefer 4 1/4"

That reminds me, i need to text you

No harm done, i knew the lad was only having a laugh

That is the first negative statement I have read about Nelson on here. Having sold nets myself, I know that he does his utmost to make sure the customer is happy, I also know that stuff happens that is beyond anyone's control. So would you like to expand on that statement and tell us how he let you down? TC The lad asked for some photo's of my nets and baskets, ive a memory like a gold fish

Nice work again there Matt. A give away for that price.

Eight poles is a bit mean, I would use 11 personally, a pole every 5 yards makes for a well set net. TC

Sorry to here that Joe,, there's deffo a problem with the Twines, no matter what way one loads the needle the defects in the twine, nowt to do with agouti though, but he needs to get this issue sorted with the manufacturers, I think a new fitter/engineer is what the twine makers need as the present one is a cock ... Regards.. I think i will contact and see if I can get a refund, i bought 4 bowls and i won't be using it. Anything you buy new should be fit for purpose and this isn't, as you say not agoutis fault so he should also be refunded. Problem is Joe they dont give a toss, Nig

surely that would depend if you load your needle horizontally or vertically? Leeview is correct when he says you need to unload the spool horizontal, if you dont then you will add twist to the twine.

i'm waiting for some stuff to come through myself so had a crack with the kitchen string (much to the missus' displeasure!) i found this video tutorial on youtube the most helpful. clear explanation, easy to follow and makes it all sound pretty straight forward. it only took me about 30 minutes to get the knot sorted and meshes an even size (and that was usung a wooden spatula as a meshboard!) as soon as you've got the hang of the knot it should just be a rinse and repeat job for the rows. (i'm hoping!) watch the video through first, then watch it with a loaded needle and keep

Walshie, dont bother with the NM800 its over priced to say the least. build quality is good but its still too much cash imo. have you thought about a T50 or bigger???

Range Finder For Use At Night ?
NELS0N replied to bigruss's topic in Shooting Equipment & Accessories
Nope, these have been imported by another in the UK. i also know the manufacturer of these units and toying with the idea of buying a load in -
clove hitch the running lines into the grommets, remember to add a mesh into the hitch you will have a problem if the lines are too thick, you'll not get the hitch into the grommet. if your using castration bands you'll need to put the band on the pole, clove hitch the line then twist the band back over the hitch.

been waiting for you to get her hoisted, looks really good mate plenty of slack, will make a fine killing net

Purse nets made the way i like them Bill, plenty of meshes on the ring. 41/2" mesh i presume?? i do like the 11/4" rings, not too sure on the pink, but then again i guess it matches your nail polish
-
1 1/4" Nelson if poss. . . I dont mind what colour the sheet netting is really...and if the drawcord twine is a different colour I dont really mind that. also. I'm easily pleased..lol Vin, i mean the mending twine you'll be needing to braid the net to the rings. i think your stuck between brown in 10z or green in 12z however that 4" mesh on the 12z would put me off. i like the rabbit to get his head through the mesh.
