  1. It wasnt the knot you were using, its more likely you were missing the mesh
  2. Some times there's nothing you can do about the twist, its the twine at fault. Ive seen this twine being made first hand when i was shown round the factory. They know some spools are a bit lively, Its a very old machine producing this twine so dont expect it to change any time soon. You can however expect a rise in price because they can take it or leave it, its not a big product for them.
  3. Nash, i'm fairly sure you could feed a family of 5 for around £15 or just over with fresh veg and meat. £3 per person for a decent roast dinner.....nah im not having that. the meat is the only expense, veg costs next to nothing these days. how much is a chicken?? £6-7 leaves £8-9 quid for the rest. If we the hunting community cant source meat there's something wrong.

  5. People should be more concerned with what they're feeding their family these days. Too many parents cant be bothered to cook their young ones a proper meal with fresh veg and meat/fish. In would rather waste a bit of food from time to time and make sure i had fresh food in the fridge at all times.
  6. Dave is a cracking chap, and his gear is very well put together. not like these cheap bits of tat you see on fleebay.
  7. walshie, speak to that "somebloke" chap on the NV forum he will see you right with what you need.
  8. you'd get a fairly good return but the licence fee would cost an arm and a leg
  9. Arry, That blog was a long time ago if i remember. chips have a bigger id than simple numbers, however i can see where that chap thought that could be part of the numbers if deben had made a poor job of rubbing them off.
  10. They say it was due to component parts being obsolete, which is complete bollocks. I can build a complete new mk1 ferret finder including brand new chip sets, the only issue is the ferrite rod. every other component can be bought off the shelf. The reason the MK1 stopped being produced is because the company that made them moved onto new technology, these are drain finders adapted to our use. the same for the mk3. The mk3 finders are only have to be accurate to within 12" to pass quality control hence the inaccuracy with a good few of them. I have however used one that was pin point accurate.

  12. 1.5-2mm braided nylon is what your looking for. You dont want 3mm it's too heavy. Spot on. When someone recommends 3mm running lines, it does make me wonder exactly how much long netting they have done? TC We both know the answer to that question TC Les
