It only takes a fer ar*e holes to ruin things for everyone. To be fair i'll be glad to get 2013 out the way.......... was an uphill struggle from the start which has a knock on effect so its been a very very busy year. Lets hope 2014 brings a little more luck to everyone. Happy new year people.

I wouldn't recommend it, painfully slow. I do make my own pins mate out of mild and stainless, there not always perfectly circular but they do a good enough job for me . Mr Goodcat. It's a pitch for toddlers mate and i think it's tapered as well,, just to add to the confusion. Thank you for that Mr Wilkes . I get on with that type of net really well but when its saturated you can really feel the difference compared to a lighter single stranded one. Cheers. Mr Goodcat. I never thought, do you do stainless pins Les? i do make stainless pins Bob but if i was you i'd take smithie up on a free set of mild steel Good man smithie thats a nice offer

Nothing quite like a hand knitted net. Not sure if i could face knitting 2 at once. Do you make your own pins?? Regards Les

I always add a mesh into the clove hitch when im rigging a quickset, if your using 4 1/4" mesh then count 85 meshes and measure out 5 yards on your running lines and tie into your grommet or bands. if your setting at 6 yard centres then do as Tiercel says and count 102 meshes to every 6 yard.

Kev, that large basket will hold 24 poles in total, fill the back right up then start adding to the front. i wont be making the smaller basket until the new year i have a new workshop to build first

Well done for getting out Jack. Dont worry about not catching, your not the first to go home empty handed on their first outing and you wont be the last Keep a little note book of each drop you do, you'll soon know when to go out or stay by the fire

Get yourselves knocking on doors, you should be doing this every chance you get. if you cant get out ferreting, go knocking. i travel up and down the country for my sport as im sure a lot of members do on here.
