Well as we all should know, its the start of the Pheasant season today! Good luck to all and keep us updated on this topic on how the season is going for you! I would be out today, if it wasn't for my torn MCL in my knee, hoping it heals quick so i can get out on the pheasants!

Shooting Sxs And Singles
TwoSmokingBarrels replied to bullx100%'s topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Your sight picture will vary from using different styles of guns, so your sight plane with a over and under will be different compared to your sight picture with a sxs, you will shoot lower with a sxs. Your aim will be slightly different for the different types of shotgun aswell, Its like shooting a single barrel with no raised rib,you would be shooting low if you was used to shooting an over and under with a raised rib, Its best to stick to one type anyway! I can not get on with a sxs, just not for me, i'll stick to a semi auto and Over and under! -

Damage To Swift Moderator By Hmr Bullet
TwoSmokingBarrels replied to kenj's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I Agree with Rimmer! If their was a round lodged in the barrel and another shot was fired, the aftermath could be deadly, and a high chance of maiming the user resulting in loss of fingers or their face resembling a chewed up toffee. The OP got off lucky this time, he could not be here now, or not typing because of the loss of his fingers. Firing another round down a fouled barrel is a no no, the pressures are crazy, how the barrel didnt blow or the chamber etc is very lucky, which leads me to think that the first round must have just exited the barrel. This could have been a lesson that was l -
First Time Out With A Shotgun...
TwoSmokingBarrels replied to Gaz_1989's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I'm not sure mate. Bullx100% is the lad I was out with. I'm sure he will comment on here. Looks like a Hatsan Escort! Those guns get such bad stick, never had a problem with mine! Good shooting, you thinking about getting into it more now? finding one which fires 7 and halfs is the problem mate thats why they get so much stick when you find one which cycles 7 and halfs your on to a winner... Ye try 60 or 70 you might find one that works for a bit ive tred two and found 1 lol Me and my dad both have one, not a trouble with either, cycles anything for me, probably w -

Have you checked the mounts are all tight? and that the scope isn't moving at all? As suggested above, try a different scope see how that gets on, otherwise then the problem could lie with the gun itself. Also try shooting without the mod, see how you get on then, pellets could be clipping it and getting sent off course!

If your using steel shot, the chokes got to be half or less, if its any more than half (3/4, FULL) etc it will bulge your barrels because it doesn't compress like lead. You can use heavy shot fine if its lead, and you can also use heavy steel shot because you state both barrels are half choke! Hope this helps!

I Phone Attachment To Scopes
TwoSmokingBarrels replied to David.evans's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
I made one for free, it cost me nothing really, from an old shaving cream bottle lid, and an empty toilet roll. Then found an old iphone case and glued it to the contraption and it works a treat and is as solid as a rock, my footage is great, will upload some photos and video examples when i get around to it! -
It makes me giggle that because people buy the more expensive guns, beretta, browning etc they think it will make them a better shooter, it doesn't. As mentioned above, its your personal ability, yes some factors can make you shoot worse, like the gun not fitting you, maybe a higher rib etc. But its mainly down to the man behind the gun, your gun could cost £10 or £10,000, doesn't mean you'll shoot better with the £10k one rather than the £10 one. Just get out with the gun more, get used to it, if nothing happens, get rid of it and look for another! That wood on the beretta is very nice indeed

They could have been stored in damp conditions? With the plume of smoke, possibly just a dodgy round, always get a few.

AYA COSMOS Single barrel ejector, 28" barrels, Full choke, good condition, all colour hardened action present, good blacking to barrels. Slight crack in forend, doesn't affect the gun atall, hardly noticeable. Comes with a few cartridges if you pick up face to face. £85 Can also RFD at your cost.

Semi Auto Shotgun Help
TwoSmokingBarrels replied to 1888andybhoy's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I always see people comment bad about them but ive not had a problem with it. Yes of course you can get better, but for the price its nothing to complain about, never had a jam, and its had all sorts through it. Have you ever owned a "Hatsan"? I know people get jams with 21g carts, but who uses them anyway, thats a clay load, not a game load etc. -

Could Never Shoot A O/u As Good As Semi's
TwoSmokingBarrels replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Im pretty sure you'd get less recoil with a semi auto? A Semi auto usually has a gas assisted system, which in turn will lessen the perceived recoil, and therefore having less recoil than a O/U. But factors that will contribute to the recoil felt is obviously the weight of your loads and weight of the gun etc. But generally, a semi auto will have less recoil. -
