Wow Mia, I thought it was just me counting down the days lol. Was nearly divorced the other day. 1 of my boys said " it's great only 10 weeks til we go away on holidays" to which I answered, " even better son, only 14 weeks to duck season" lol. Her indoors wan not impressed

Just read that Joe Irving has passed away after after a long illness. A true genius where dog training is concerned. A huge loss and a true gent. May he rest in peace.

Hi lads, I'm trying to get into sea fishing and have bought basic shore gear for myself and my eldest lad ( 2 12ft beach casters, tripod and some lures/feathers). I'm appealing to any of the other Irish fishermen on here for some tips and advice for fishing around the Hook Head area please. Have 2 weeks booked down there in August and hope to get out with my boys as much as possible while there. ATB Jim

Hi guys Having a problem lately with my 3 year old springer bitch. Every now and then when she is delivering a dummy or bird, she leans over and wees everywhere. She also did it the other day when there were a lot of us standing around chatting. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Still nothing. Am hearing them nearby but nothing coming around the trap. Someone told me to raise it up off the ground and it will work better. Any thoughts??

Remi I moved it earlier and stuck on my mates ucaller. Every magpie round here came into the yard but didn't go into the trap. Fuc***s lol Probuck Bird was caught about 10 miles away

I've was given a live bird by a mate yesterday but there's not a sound out of it in the trap.Is this normal? Do they need time to get adjusted and start calling?

I'm in the gun club but no one really knows much about trapping as far as I can see. Myself and my young fella are running 5 mink traps aswell. They are going a bit better. The club secretary contacted the local game council to see about a call bird but as of yet we have heard nothing. Carlow, What are you using for bait? Toby will try that tomorrow or would I be aswell off doing it tonight?

Hi guys, I've had a Larson trap out in the garden for nearly a week now with no success. I'm trying to catch a call bird before I set up somewhere else. I've been using the fake nest with 2 eggs in it ( 1 broken). There are loads of magpies knocking around but none going near the trap. Any tips would be great Jimmy

Thought it might be fun to start this thread. Season closed here tonight so I am looking for your stories etc. Personally I just got back into hunting last May after nearly 20 years away. Did a bit of pigeon shooting, then some vermin shoots with the local club. September came around and my brother asked me the million dollar question " Do u fancy coming for a shot at a few duck?"
