For Sale Air Arms Prosport .177 V-Mach Tuned
WoodsmanJim replied to WoodsmanJim's topic in Gun's and Rifle's
Thanks Jonnie! It's a real peach, I've enjoyed it a lot, just need to raise funds for my FAC other wise as I say, I'd definitely be keeping it. Thanks for a sweet deal back then, hope I get an equally happy buyer this time! J -
Well here's my V-Mach tuned Air Arms Prosport, .177. Beech stock. A lovely gun, super accurate in the right hands! Great for hunting or target work, this will not disappoint. Shooting at 11.4 ft/lbs with AA field pellets. Comes with sling, QD stud and barrel clamp. These are the proper blued metal parts (£30!), not cheap rubbish. Also supplied is the original piston, spring guide and tophat. Excellent condition. £320 ono - price is negotiable, but no really silly offers please, we all know how good these guns are. Only selling to fund FAC rifles as my ticket just came in. If I had the

Just had a coterminous cert granted by Merseyside, took 7 months and that was with me chasing them up every 2 weeks since April and getting BASC to give them call.

Which .17Hmr Ammo To Start With?
WoodsmanJim replied to Ginbear's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
FoxtrotOscar - can I ask how you dispose of the dud if you don't shoot them? genuine question as I'm getting 17hmr soon and will be checking all the ammo I buy after hearing some horror stories like the ones in this thread! Do your return them to your RFD for disposal? or there there some easy way to render them safe without having to fire them? Cheers -
I agree in principle about calling the plod to inform them prior to a trip out, but mine started taking so long to answer the none emergency phone line that I gave up! I don't have time to sit about for 25 minutes ( I kid you not, it rang for 25 straight minutes before any picked it up!) before each time I shoot. I hope they are a bit better staffed where you are.

For Sale Air Arms Prosport .177 Beech
WoodsmanJim replied to jonnie bravo's topic in Gun's and Rifle's
Can't believe I didn't see this! If you still have I'm very interested! Cash waiting. Where are you exactly in west Yorkshire? Cheers, Jim -
That depends on whether your joining from inside or outside the M25. From inside you have to go over the motorway to join clockwise and you don't cross the motorway to join anti clockwise.
-
Do you still have this? Are you open to offers? Jim

Don't get me wrong, I'm not sticking my fingers in my ears and doing the "la la la it never happened" thing. I've no doubt that plenty of heinous acts have been committed by humans, in the name of religion for centuries, I'm not denying that one bit. I was just hoping to point out that, as Norseman says, you shouldn't believe everything you read without checking it. This story has generated a very emotive response, which if proved true would be appropriate, but we should always check before making huge statements, judgements or accusations. Like Rake says, there are some good ones out there.

Did you read the article Norseman? It cites the original research and actually involved that researching in forming the article. I'd say that was much more trustworthy than tabloid 'news'. I'm not making any social, historical, political or any other comment on the history of the church, Catholic or otherwise. I'm not defending nor condemning as that's not my place. I'm merely pointing out that the story is not all that it made out to be by lazy journalists and social media 'click and share' types who just love a horrible headline without doing any homework.

Looks like this particular case might've been blown just a tiny but out of proportion by the religion-hating media. No surprises there! Turns out that years ago two boys dug their way into an old crypt and found a skeleton or two. That crypt was a converted septic tank. The skeletons weren't of children. Also, unrelatedly, lots of children died at that home over the years, which was sadly commonplace in those days. A historian discovered these two facts amongst many other while doing research and the media put them together without actually reading it properly and declared the headlin

Alright folks, as title really. I have a friend with an LG90 that is not compressing at all. it needs a service and new seals but unsure where to send it. My usual airgunsmith turned it away as being "out of his league" but did know a guy (not a gunsmith, but a fellow shooter who's a watchmaker) who was happy to "take a look at it". I think I'd like more of a concrete recommendation than that as it is a fairly top end and techie rifle. Any suggestions as to who the 'go-to guy' is for these guns? Thanks all, Jim

Hawke Sidewinder
WoodsmanJim replied to hairy biker's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I had one, well actually I had several as I keep having to send them back. Loved the reticle, Hated everything else. Couldn't get it set up right, wasn't clear at all, couldn't get a decent veiw through any of the ones I had. Felt cheap, build quality was poor. Eventually I got a refund rather than a swap and bought a MTC Viper. Never looked back, it's fab. Jim -
Hmmmm, are they really that good Mole? personally I like the look and am now wondering if I could sell my current line up (or at least a few of them) to buy one of these. very tempting, although the price looks a little optimistic. Kibworth shooting ground have them up for £680. Jim

pretty sure Darryl off here deals them, maybe drop him a PM? edit* his username is Marksman Jim

Ok, here's the final product. Hobble sent me the pics over yesterday and I must say, it looks amazing!! Definitely a good call to grind a proper edge onto it, it looks fit for anything now, but with some lovely patterning and age to the blade. wonderful! Handle makeing: And oiled up and fastened: A really lovely job there Hobble. I wonder if those screw heads might start to rub a bit on the hand after prolonged use? Might be worth recessing them into the handle a bit if you can. Love the oiling though, brings out the wood beautifully. Top wor

I know the area well Reaper! I used to live in shepshed and drive round those areas all the time, there are always loads about aren't there! I remember going to the Hilton at J24 once and the field in front of that being COVERED in bunnies. There must've been 40 in less than half an acre. Not safe to shoot there unfortunately due to being only yards away from main roads and a busy car park/ hotel entrance. Shame! Jim

that'll look lovely, can't wait to see it! Jim
