    hi all just need a bit of advice. when beating with my dog i keep her quite close hunting through the thick stuff. but alot of beaters just let there dogs go & they run on & i can see birds getting up way in front then when my bitch gets there she' on the scent but does'nt get a flush only the odd one they have missed. will this effect her in anyway. after all the training i dont want to just let her do the same. many thanks.     hi mate if you like springers then thats the dog you should go for briliant dogs but dont buy into they have more stamina than cockers i woz out on a shoot today 30/1/11 and a bloke had a cocker that woz beating & retriving it woz full on all day & i think if he went out tomorrow it woud do it all again. daz

    it was a young lad ,dont know his name,with a saluki cross...he was like a cheshire cat..well done to him.. Really pleased for the young guy- just for the record the Champion of Champion Lurcher was a 3/4 Greyhound x 1/4 Picardy (hope that is right spelling !) Reserve was Maria Pether's smooth brindle dog.. Great turn out. 45 Champions, Super show. Big improvement from last year.
