Hi Camokev Will give that a try as it keeps more interesting for me as well not just doing the same stuff every night or late afternoon as it is at this time of year really keen to get him on shoots as well.

Trying to get some beating on local shoots but finding it difficult to get my foot in the door being new to this sort of thing as i think this would do him the world of good he is very steady. Also finding it difficult to find local land I can go on with game without tresspassing. i live in West Lancashire so if you have any contacts I would be greatful.

Had my cocker out two nights on the trot training with rabbit skin and pheasant wing dimmies it has livened him up no end thanks Barraboy will let you no if he keeps up the good work. Camokev you said prey drive needs to be encouraged but without live game how can i do that any advice welcome its my first dog??

I will leave him off the retrieves for a couple of days then I will try him on the rabbit skins see if it sparks him up a bit thanks

My cocker gets bored if I take him to the same training area three times on the trot, he will pick up but just walks out for the dummy and walks back. I am running out of places to take him does anyone else have a similar problem or any ideas? By the way he is 15 months old and hasnt been on a shoot?
