Nah.. They used one in the gun shop when I bought my hw99 and the zero was no where near point of impact. I use a blank sheet of paper at about 10m, shot once and then shoot for the hole. then just move target to desired zero distance.

With pcp you also have the advantage of more shots per fill in .22, I also find my hw99s in .177 is a lot more lively to shoot than the same in .22. There is also the difference in cost of pellets but I usually buy premium pellets so money saving on ammo never comes in to it and I never shoot cheap ammo for plinking. I am using superdomes in the .22 and Defiant HFT in .177 ( which I find superb)

Nice link for the zero targets tyvm

I would think over £800, but not suprised if it mad a lot more, very rare and very collectable. Just had another look at photos, must be a couple of grand

agree with the expert, mr pianoman, I had to twist my objective bell on my non AO hawke 3-9x40 to get it focused at 20m, before I did this I could have target OR crosshairs in focus, but not both. BTW it took a fair bit of effort to get the end unscrewing for the first time

What pellets did you use. It can be the most important part of the whole outfit. I have just got the right ones for my rifles and it is a revelation. I have a custom bulk fill smk xs78 in .22 that was shooting like a shotgun till I tried RWS Superdomes, It now one holes 5 shots at 20m all the time. I use 4.52 defiant hft in my hw 99s and they are super accurate.

not really air rifles but a worry
Roy Williamson replied to fry's topic in General Airgun Discussion
In the light of recent events. I would say the states need some form of gun control. You may feel different if it was one of your babies butchered. -
Also as you get older the larger ,22 ,25 pellets are easier to see

As stated above, this link is over 7 years old, dont think we need any scaremongering to add to the general confusion over what MAY happen in Scotland. It may even be that registering or licencing air weapons may keep them out of the hands of the yobs and idiots that create all the bad press. But that is a different kettle of fish that may be best left alone

Did i tell you i kin love my wife
Roy Williamson replied to risingfriend's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Congrats. I only got the usual slippers, smellies and a nice single malt (the glenlivet) but I still kin love my missus also What a woman, cooked full monte for 12 and looked fab while doing it. HOW? I cant even rub my head and pat my stomach at the same time. Happy Christmas all, especially to those fab wives/mums who work so hard all day -
Go on you little tinker, and yes this has been asked once or twice For my penneth's worth,, .22 is smoother in a springer, more energy downrange, less chance of over penetration, so safer if shooting pests indoors ( less chance of damage to rooves in barns) .177 flatter trajectory so easier to estimate holdover, usual caliber used at ft/hft. there are many many other reasons to choose a calibre, not to mention .20 and .25. .20 may be the perfect choice as ammunition quality gets better. Happy Christmas

Just read this on another forum A user on another forum with the user name airgunner 400 and an e mail of james_brown124@aol.co.uk. was selling an Air Arms 400 and a set of Swaro binos. He was less than genuine shall we say and has been deleted. If a seller is using this e mail or user name beware and take precautions before parting with any money. It's suggested that you only deal face to face with him, if at all. Sounds like our man again

Here is my motly collection as signature HW99s .177 tasco 4-14x50AO SMK XS78 Custom Porky Yorky Special Hawke 3-9x40 FWB Model 2 co2 .177 Beeman P17 webley 1.5x15 .177 Webley Hurricane .22 English Walnut grips

as above, also nikko do some reasonably priced scopes. I have the cheapest 3-9x40 hawke and the optics are very clear and bright, just wish I had paid the extra for AO, I think having adjustable objective or side wheel is very important at the close ranges we use aitguns at.

Was wondering what it was you did that needed a pint of whiskey and lemmo Thought My job was bad, cant get a day to myself, even been a week since I have been able to get to the gun club, looks like it may be next thursday before I can have a shoot. The upside is I finish my last night shift 6.30 thurs morning and go back on a late shift on the 2nd jan. In today 7pm to 5 am. at least I get double time on sundays. -
Air gun magazines the book type
Roy Williamson replied to j j m's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I buy them occasionally, used to have a subscription to gun mart, but so much crap and adverts and very little content, I usually pick one up on the way to the airport so that would be once a year -

I usually get the cheaper rocks or waves editions, usually on special offer in asda for about £29. It is 45% but smooth and mellow. Some of those special editions look a bit tasty, but £700 a bottle................ I do like a nice bourbon as well, got some makers mark from costco for christmas, think it was about £20. Think I have a bottle of bells in the corner for anyone who asks for lemmo in it -

If you like a nice drop of malt, have you tried Bruichladdich, lovely drop of the old amber nectar. Cheers -

Testing the New Defiant HFT Pellets - PCP
Roy Williamson replied to AR177's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Glad to see they are performing for others. Lots of peple seemed down on da hft's when i first mentioned them. Think these are a big improvement over older designs. -
Tried the sample pots today, both the defiant 7.5 grain and exterminator 9.5 grain could not hold a decent group, the lighter defiant where very loose, probably because they are so short. The hft in 8.5 grain 4.52 shot superb as usual, probably about 6 to 10mm groups at 20 yds. I wont get better as this is about the best I can hold the rifle, If I rested my hand on a bag and shot like that I would probably get 1 hole groups at about 5mm c to c. The heavier pellet would probably work a treat in pcp's.

Great work mate, If more of our youngsters got into the cadets I think it would solve alot of our problems with the young people. They learn respect, a sense of being valued as part of a team. I do feel the main problem we have is the young people have no boundries and just dont know how to behave in an acceptable manor. I know its not realistic, but something must be done. A friend of the wifes was in a chippy recently, young lad walks in, hood up, pushes to the front, she says to him, excusme me lad there is a queue here, he turn and butts her in the face, blood everywhere, husband sees t

SMK - Sportsmarketing B2 .177 / 4.5mm
Roy Williamson replied to Sjt657's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Nowt wrong with the smk range if you gut a little work in on them. I would go for the SMK XS20 (HW95 copy), this can really be tuned up well and lots of interchangable with the 95. I am sure you could still have fun with th B2 tho. Woodfield G.C.P has a great source of parts for these rifles. Have fun -
great advice from mawders and secretagentmole, If Woodfield Gun Care is near you... what are you waiting for Wish I had a quaity place like that close to me.
