First Time At A Shooting Club This Sunday
webster replied to webster's topic in General Airgun Discussion
has a great morning out but their springer class is a mixed class both .177 and .22 . out of the 30+ folk on the course only one springer + mine bit sad realy .looks like i will be getting my hw80 setup for hft . was one styre rifle looked like it was from startreck , i was killing my self laughing when he was constantly getting the piss taken out of his gun and himself but a elderly woman with a aas400 the guys rig must have cost £3000 + hers was £370 second hand and boy did he get schooled lol -
going to my first shooting club this sunday in no spring chicken to airguns been shooting them on and off for 16 years but its only been in a hunting scenario , whats the general attitude at clubs i know gun safety is a must but do i go in all guns ablazing so to speak or just keep quiet . another thing should i take a rifle or 2 with me or just observe for the first time . i shoot springers mainly but if i take one do i take my main shooting rifle ( hw .22 )or do i take my rifle i use for static hunting ( hw77 .22) theirs a chance i might get out on a HFT course so do i take my hw8

i have 2 80s one in .22 and a .177 and have never had a problem with the weight im 13st and work in the building trade so noodle arms aint a problem i had a hw95 before the 80s and found it too light for me the weight helps hold the gun on target and really tames the recoil if the weight does get too much fit a sling for carrying it but as i said i have no probs with the weight .
-
i have the varmint and think its great for hunting but for hft the ret is a bit too thick , cant comment on panorama but the ret is the only complaint i have with my varmint mine hase been on a hw95 in .177 . my in .22 and my 77 in .22 . it now lives on my falcon light hunter so it will cope with the recoil of a big springer

cheers guys , been thinking about modding the stock i like the feel of it but might try and chissel a thumb cleff in . getting a sfs kit ordered tomorrow still thinking a standard length barrel is on the cards as i love the look of the longer barrel the gun is wearing now .

decided to start hft im in the process of joining a club local to me and im converting a 1984 hw80 from .22 to .177 i have a couple of questions about the conversion I have never shot a in .177 as my main hunting gun is a .22 . 1] whats the muzzel flip on a .177 like 2] im in the process of buying a 177 barrel but not sure to go for a full length or the carbine barrel ( depends on barrel flip ) 3]the gun has the old square stock so its getting some new wood, has anyone got any experience with a cs700 or cs800 with a fitted 4]planning on using mu trusty old bushnell trophy mill do

just put my over the chrony got it yesterday its a 1885 gun abd it was running at 13.7 its now in bits but it has raised some questions after the strip down i found a square coil spring .now i have removed a few ox springs from guns over the past few years and this spring doesnt look anything like the shite i have removed . its the edges they seem to be smoothed off and the hole spring looks better finnished , i have read that weihrauch have fitted square sectioned springs in the past and by the look of this spring it looks like it should be in their , another thing is the

sold my hw100kt to airgun guy on sunday we planned to meet up about 11 but wires got crossed so i ended up with a few hours too kill so the missis said we should go have a look around glasgow field sports after ooing and aaaing at some of the guns i got chatting to the guy behind the counter and mentioned my love of weihrauch rifles ,his comment was wait here a minute he came back with a mk1 hw80 in .22 in rough but usable condition , i have been looking for a mk1 in .177 but sheenas ( the missis ) thoughts were i can pick up a .177 barrel later and use this gun for the crap winter months and

webster replied to Brilawn's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
no its bloody awful -
for my birthday this year my missis bought me an old hw35 in rough condition it was cheap thankfully i only just got round to having a look and play with it properly last week its all stripped cleaned and cold blued back up now but the leather piston seal was shagged .i have fitted a new breach seal and a piston head converter to a synthetic seal all the work has raised the power to a massive 6.7 flb i understand its never going to shoot as my hw80 does but i kinda want the power in the mid 9flbs as its going to be used for clearing barns of ferrals so the lower power will help stop
