  6. it was H&N field target trophy greens , in both calibers ,, and the dealer wasnt up for speaking much about it
  7. has anyone had any luck with lead free pellets my local dealer is only stocking lead free stuff now not sure why but thats what im looking at ,, i bought a couple of trial tins they dont seem too bad , Im finding the group not bad but the targets i set my range points with are 12mm ply and the .22s just drill threw and hardly deform the .177s fly threw anything they hit ,shot a bunny with my hw77 in .177 killed the bunny i aimed at and wounded the bugger that was behind it ( not a fan of a 35yard sprint ), i have always used aa fields in my hws but i had to order my last tin online and a third
  8. cheers did up my hw35 last year and the home blue kit doesnt look too bad , but was thinking about going for a professional job this time , .. main plan for now is get it shooting nice and then see if i like hw77s in .177 as i have had plenty in .22 but this is my first in the smaller caliber
  9. hi guy i finally managed to get my mate to sell me his hw77k action in .177 , ( he bought a .22 cation 3 years ago and transplanted everything across ) this is great as im starting to get in hft in a big way , im going to be transplanting my hw77 .22 internals over ( 25mm piston) and starting it as a bit of a project ,, problems are its been sat in his garage for a while so not in the best nick where can i get it re-blued and what service kits are going about nowadays , i have used a few different types in the past with varied success some utter crap and some spot on but bloody expensiv
  10. never its a stunning bit of glass ,, wish i could find a 40mm for my hw77k
  11. just a quick note too all , i bought my hw80k from sandwell field sports 8 years ago and she has been a gem , out most weekends and god knows how many pellets have been threw her , was out last weekend with a mate clearing some pigeons on his shoot and he commented on how loud my gun was , i have never noticed and in the last 8 years i have never needed to do anything to her but after a bit of exploration tonight it turns out the piston seal has had it and the loud action turned out to be the piston seal letting air past its sides and the piston body was slamming into the front of the action ,
  12. not being nasty folks but no one gave a toss about the scottish air gun scheme being implemented , their was a heap of us making alot of noise up here but the noises we got back from south of the border were " oh they will never try that here " well its coming your way next guys and unless we ALL get together as one and do something their wont be any one coming up into the sport and it will be soooo difficult to get an airgun that folks wont bother ,, its easyer to get a frickin shot gun licence up here than it is to get an airgun one ,,, fingers out guys signing an on li
  13. the kit in the ,177 hw80 smoothed it out but the kit I'm my hw80 in .22 is awesome just seems to work better in the .22 ,, tell me more i have a hw77 rifle in .22 and that was going to be my next question on, up here in scotland the .22 class is spring and pcp banded together ,
  14. cheers guys ,, the rifle aint exactly stock sfs kit in it and wearing a cs800 stock will give it a go and see how i do
  15. hi folks im gonna give HFT a go , I'm gonna be using my hw80 .177 how competitive is this rifle going too be , i usually shoot ,22 but want too give the smaller caliber a go , am i being daft using the hw80 ?
  16. i did but the head keeper has spoken to the farmer and its a no no from now on , shit happens
  17. this wasn't meant to start a handbag fight guys just warning others to check their shoots ,
  18. went and spoke to him and the syndicate have rough shooting rites think i will just leave it as all 3 shoots back on to each other and if no-one is keeping the numbers down oh his land they will move over too my other shoots for feeding so i will still get a go at the rabbits , funny thing is where they have the pens for the pheasants backs on to my smallest shoot and the owner hates the estate , i can shoot anything on his land and last year all their birds ran out of the pens and strait onto his land , whats the rules regarding shooting them on this guys land , he doesn't own the birds
  19. went out for a shoot this afternoon it was quiet but got 1 rabbit on my first permission i moved onto the second shoot i have but nothing was going about so moved on to my final shoot ( all 3 of my permissions are joined ) got about half way threw it when i was confronted by 3 guys with shotguns and 2 dogs and asked what the fxxk i was doing their , i explained that i had permission and had been shooting on the land for the past 2 years and all i was allowed to shoot was rabbits rats . i was polite and kept calm with is a long way from how they were behaving , i had guns waved in my direction
  20. hw80 or a hw95 bud, break barrel and won't go wrong for me it would be the hw80
  21. stunning rifles if its a newer one your gonna be happy the older ones had a stock with a lower cheek rest which some found a bit of a problem for eye to scope alinement , i had a 77k a few years back and loved it then for some reason i traded it in for a pcp , the pcp is now gone and a full length 77 in.22 in the original stock with low mounts and a 3-9x40 scope do me proud at the range and have put plenty of meat on the table too , also have a hw97kt in .177 , but the 77 just feels natural when shouldered . your gonna have to shoulder them to get a better feel for the guns , to tell t
  22. better watch out guys they will be wanting to put a licensing scheme in england next aswell
  23. just out of interest why do you need it to be FAC a 12flb gun can kill out too 50 yards if the shooter is competent , we have all seen zini's videos and piano man hitting a 10mm spinner with a gun under 12flb , the fact the gun shoots over 12flb doesn't mean its better , I'm my opinion it just gives you more leniency as i will cause more internal damage so you don't have to be so picky about shot placement , learn the craft with the hatsan at 12flb then when you move up to the hw80 you will be amazed at how much better it is . i have 2 hw80s , one in .22 its sitting at 11.3flb and will h
  24. to tell the truth mate you need to handle them to find out which suits you best , personally i can't shoot a tx200 at all i just don't jell with them I've never shot a LGU they look great and all the reviews rave about them , out of the box you can't beat the tx200s but its a personal thing , the LGU is great and by the sound of it is perfect out of the box the 97 is good but a little bit of know how can make them amazing . the last 2 years i have been looking for another under leaver and last month i was bought a hw97kt in .177 and can't be happier , i like to open my guns up and service them
