Airgun, fair enough, just thought i would post it on here seeing as its a similar issue, saving people having to post pretty much the same bit of advice i.e get him done, seperate them etc

Will a hob with his bits intact, still try it on with a spayed jill and fight will other hobs to get her. Reason i ask, is i have 2 hobs and a spayed jill, as ive never had a jill before all the hobs have been kept together even when there in season and i have never had a problem. What are the chances of the hobs fight and is it time for there nuts to be gone?

I don't personally mate as anything could happen when they meet down the hole. They could get on or there could be a big fight and that could potential make them stay down, which obviously means more digging for you. Thats how i think anyway, some won't agree with that and will say its fine, but i don't like to risk it. P.s is there no way of you letting them get used to each other first or is this just a one off thing. If its going to be a regular thing then i would let them meet on neutral ground and see how they get on.

There is no bald patch mate, its a rash under the fur. The rash is very small, like a series of orangey/red spots from what i can remember. I will try and get a picture tonight and i will put it up.

The fert is an albino so fleas should show up easier than they would on say a poley. Just checked him over quickly with a comb(wriggling like hell) and nothing showed up. Although i did spot 2 areas were there was a small circular rash, one on the back of his neck and the other on the underside of his belly just above his meat and two veg lol. Going to bath him in the sink tomorrow and give him a good comb and they are normally running around the house for a few hours on a night anyway so he will get dry nice and quick. Will phone the vets on my lunch and see what they have to say and then if

Sometimes when introducing new ferrets or after a hard days graft as a treat, i will give them an egg and milk soup. I just use lactose free milk.

Cheers for the replies so far guys. Haven't managed to get to a vets yet and tbh don't when i will get the chance as most seem to close at 5pm and i don't finish work till after that. I was looking on alternatives and just wondered how the Frontline spot-on for cats compares, as a short term solution until i can get my hands on some spray from the vets. I thought it might have been molting, but he seems to have already got his winter coat, so hence me thinking it might be fleas. I have checked him again and can't see anything moving on him, but will have a go through his coat with a comb.

As the title suggests, everytime i see him when i am outside, he is scratcch away. I have checked him over and can't see any signs of fleas or ticks. I recently introduced a new ferret, who i checked over before putting them together and he was clean from both aswell. I was just going to get some frontline spray, just in case it was fleas, but having looked online it seems like its prescription online? So i was wanting your opinions on this, as i don't have a clue what to do.
