  1. nice gun mate, if i wasnt in the same boat as you i would have it like a shot and only up the road :-( good luck on the sale mate
  2. http://www.nobs.org.uk/ any good for you mate?
  3. just me mate, but of for pigeons i would be heading the semi route, a good day on the pigeons may give you a sore shoulder, dont get me wrong silver pigeons are great but they would be used a few times a year on game days for me, not sat in a hide... thats just me and im sure more will come along with alot more help than i have been... good luck in whatever you choose mate
  4. dunno ian, a mate of mine rushed in and bought a 10 yr old one and it shouldnt of passed it mot... a lwb and under rear seats dont know what was holding seats up, rear archs, sills..... me personally would have scrapped it.... hes not getting 20 mpg but then smokes real bad..... i guess hes just got a bad un .... put me of them though when i saw just how bad his is
  5. been nice to see all the great replies to this thread as im also in exactly the same boat, with a beretta 391 ...... since i got the gun i havnt used it the past of couple of weeks untill i get round to patterning.... also have the shims etc so will get a nice day pattern etc and hopefully will get me in the right direction. 1 thing i will say is moving from rifle to shotty isnt as easy as i thought it would be ....... a complete different ball game and my problem has been stopping and not following through, too much time looking through a scope and not enough looking down a bead and foll
  6. i think everything has a place, for me and the land i have permission of 12ft lb is ideal, other places shotguns come into place. as already said i would worry with some of the stories you read if a halfwit got hold of a high power rifle, there not even safe with a water pistol. im happy with the law as it is.... end of the day if you have the need for fac you will get one, atleast the weapon of choice is licensed and more chance of being in a responsible shooters hand.... just my thoughts, all the best steve
  7. its one of those grey areas i really wouldnt want to challenge, in the very near future i will be going for fac.... purely for bunnies, some longer range sniping, but doesnt seem right that my brother could take over and use that but not a spare shotgun while under my supervision for avian control.... mind you theres alot of grey areas and also feo's that dont know there job, pleased i have decent mentors. I've got a feeling you would make the Nationals, and Breakfast TV, and 6 and 10 News! You may even get a write up in Hunting Life! lol would give you all some g
  8. This is what we are doing, have about 9 people one in each wood keeps them moving about . we had all 12 woods covered and was nothing about :-( well not compared to whats been around past few weeks
  9. i just dont want to be the test case with my ugly mug front page of local papers
  10. on saturday had all the local woods covered..... i didnt get a shot of, mate in next wood had 2 shots of and nothing, another got 4 and is a cracking shot, another got 15 and a cracking shot, another got shed loads.... dunno about the rest but week before was hundreds taking of , guess wrong place at the wrong time
  11. was told by my keeper its a grey area... although i have permission to shoot on the land from the 2 keepers, they have the rights to shoot and can only let people shoot the land who has a sgc, something about an old law???? but if i had fac i could let my brother use. however he also said its down to me if i let my brother shoot, they will back me if police get involved and as im insured etc etc it "should" be ok, but as i havnt had sgc for long i dont want to risk it.
  12. i got 3 anchors in my bicep holding it togther, had to have half my muscle stitched back on so still weak from a year ago.... tried a franchi 20g and that was great but was faulty so went and did some searching and for me as sometimes i cant hardly move my arm i decided on a beretta 391 and shooting pigeons its great, hardly any kick and so far doing well with it, one thing about the benellis, the gunshop and keepers told me to becarefull as there recoil system is different to gas auto and would definately kick more... get out and try as many as you can mate..... i found the sx3 hurt my should
  13. says several bolts mate so i would say yes :-)
  14. if you know where the bunnies will be, and have a good idea where you will be waiting, get some old garden canes and stick in the hedgerow at 10 yard intervals with shotty cartridge or masking tape etc on top so you can see easily them at night.... makes life easy with nv or lamp, all the best steve
