  1. Im interested to here what other lads think who have experience with pedigree Whippets, what age they should start on the bigger ones. Lamp or daytime.
  2. Thanks pal, Ill definitely keep that in mind
  3. Thanks mate, well done I know the feeling
  4. Lol yes but these ones have really long ears lol
  5. Thanks Brambles, I was happy with the way she ran last night, first time shes been on the long ears, they were nearly as big as her lol lol
  6. Im now happy with the way my 14 month old Whippet is coming on, at first she didnt know how to strike, she seemed to be using her feet but after her first rabbit she started to get the hang of it. Last night I slipped her on her first long ears, she picked it up but had a bad tumble and she let go. The second one she struck at it twice taking the fur from its back end, it was lucky and got through the hedge. Im hoping its only a matter of time, the more I run her the better shell get, shes very keen so Im sure she wont get sick.
  7. Well since her first rabbit she's started picking up, even retrieving back to hand but last night she's gone and hit the barbed wire and ripped her leg quite bad. I've had her to the vets to be stitched so looks like she'll be laid off a few weeks...
  8. Thanks pal, no more lamping now till the moon goes
  9. She has caught he first rabbit, first strike, I'm over the moon. Patience has payed off. Took my time with her, only slipping her on sitters when lamping, I will still keep to only slipping her on sitters till I think she's cracked it.
  10. When the weather turns and we get a bit wind, when lamping the bunnies will be sitting further out.
  11. Anyone had a young dog not quite learning how to pick up. My bitch is keen enough but rabbits constantly running into the hedge I'm a little worried it may sicken her. Her last 5 or 6 slips have been on sitters when out lamping.
  12. I've a 13 month old whippet she's not striking picking up. I've been lamping with her only slipping her on the sitters. She's mad keen to chase, I was teasing her with a dead rabbit, still warm she was ok with picking it up, I'm hoping it will just click with her, she's keen enough.
  13. Good dog pal, you can see he loves his work. Can you tell me what make of lamp your using, there looks to be no glair or very little. Thanks
  14. Anyone using the Tracer sport light, with the adjustable beam spot or flood. Just wondering are they any good ? I cant make my mind up to buy the Tracer and get the 10Ah Lithium Battery from HuntersChoice, or save some money and go for the PLR500 LED lamp from Clulite. Thanks in advance
