  3. good job mate, but, you need to adjust the ramp so that you can see daylight from the other end when its set...
  4. I'm after a little bit of help  The terriers are suffering something terrible from the nettles at the moment .... is there anything i can do or use to help the soreness especially around the eyes?..... Thanks BorderBoy

  8. Very true, but there's only so many mile you can cover in a day .... Does anybody else know any more about working borders? It looks as though working borders were pretty common in the ''s and '90's after looking through various older books and magazines ... Have they faded that much in that short time? ..... Out on a wander with black one!
  9. I reckon its either bailer twine - or the little bag fat balls come in

The dam of my bitch has done some earth work , I would love to try mine on some bigger game, but it doesnt look very likely because i struggle to find any earths , maybe that'll change once i'm driving next year .... I would be very interested to know some more about some of the working strains? does anybody know owt??

  14. Get a couple of pics up please
  15. I tried a litter tray similar to those, but found that they were flipped and unhooked far too easily - which makes more mess than it saves... I have a small plastic dog bed which is the width of the run and is held in place with two bits of batoning which it tucks under, and even it gets tipped out...
  16. Im in a similar situation , I live in the middle of town, but i found it was just a case of putting the miles in (walking) early in the morning, and then making the most of any spots i do find whilst mooching ... It will be nice when i'm driving though... the terrier wont get half as much road walking ....
  17. I wouldn't fancy feeding them to my dogs or ferrets... especially not these ones, as they have fed on all kinds of horrible food and been in contact with someprettyhorrible substances... but i'd be more willing to feed "country" rats that had fed on corn and grain to my ferrets....
  18. got another this morning in the fenn this time though..... Gotcha... Another young'un though ....
  19. I'll probably go either there or to Highclere....
  20. Your right TOMO i know f**k all about it. All i was saying was my opinion which is that if dogs cant do the job quickly, effectively and humanely without getting completley smashed up, on there own or teamed up I would find another way to do it....
  21. Yeah, the little ones grow into big uns.... they do kill adults aswell. One i had last summer
  22. Rats! They have got under the shed, I spotted them the other afternoon running from under the shed along the beam and across to the chickens pen to steal the corn... I have a mk4 springer set in my nice little tunnel, which has caught to date 1 rat , the springer didnt fit on the beam so i raked out the little snap-e-trap... The trap in place... Victim No.1 Another angle Victim No.2 thats 2 in 2 days YIS BorderBoy
  23. Looks good ... the way i saw them being made was a bit different to that... there was a bar, which attached to a work bench, that you wrap the wire around to create the big loop, then you passed a metal pin through the bar bending one wire over the top and one wire underneath the pin. you then slid a handle on the pin and punshed up against the wire which fitted into slots then you spun the and that created the turns.... I'm not sure how clear that is so i've added a "diagram" to try and make it a bit clearer
