Just read bill Doherty's book on working deerhounds and lurchers interesting and good read,just wondering if anybody is still working and trying to keep this line of dogs going,i tried a platt deerhound x about 15 years ago and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement,i swore I would never have another deerhound x.Never say never I've got another the mother was a platt bred bitch the sire was a bull x.A little bull does go a long way but that takes nothing away from this pups dam she is defiantly a lot closer to what I was expecting from a deerhound x in the field.

A pup from parents that are doing the job you want the pup to do and doing it well and of good sound temperament.Remember you have got this dog 24hrs a day not just for hunting trips so it has to be something you can live with.
