Pheasant Chicks
Skull Hooker replied to Belgianhunter's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
Hi. Got the following off a website. Hope it helps Infra red lights can help a little by reducing visibility of any redness as the birds will very quickly start to pick on an injured pen mate. Deep bedding in brooder boxes and chicks pens can also be useful to cover chicks toes as they can be pecked and hauled at as if they were a mealworm, which they look rather like. Overcrowding of pens encourages this behaviour which is likely to start from the natural curiosity of chicks which will peck at everything they see. If the birds are given other things to peck instead the problem can ofte -
What is the black bird with the bar on its wing?

As you say, the guy is a potential terrorist. What goes on tour, stays on tour.

Who would ever leave it to labour. They clearly haven't got a clue about running a country. I voted tory for years but now I fear that all this industry theyre backing could only lead to destruction of the British countryside. That would affect my shooting and then rural economy. More economic growth to me means more factories and less greenery. Take HS2 for example. Lib dems I don't really know about but the word 'Liberal' strikes fear into me. It means they haven't any balls and they are open to all opinions, a recipe for disaster, trying to please everyone and pleasing no one. Honestly

I reckon a lot of this head shooting is driven by game dealers, who insist on unmarked carcasses for the 'going' rate. Body shot deer are frowned upon and prices adjusted accordingly. Money talks, and people take risks. Show an element of self control. Head shots aren't out, just be sure you can do it easily. If you show self control, and you are a half reasonable shot, no deer dogs will be required.

Don't be fooled into thinking that we won that conflict easily. We almost lost. I saw a brilliant documentary on it last year. One of the main reasons the Argies didn't sink a lot more of our fleet was that their bombs, which, from memory were either made by us or our allies, weren't armed properly, and although they struck our ships, they didn't explode. They wont be making that mistake twice. I reckon they learned a lot of lessons from Falklands 1, and another scrap could end in us getting our arses kicked. I wonder what the Yanks would do if there was another one.

Hmm.. lets examine the facts Watson. I deduce from the suspects name, Jeremiah Connors, that he may be a member of the travelling community, reinforced by the fact that his registered address was in Cardiff. I think this was more a message to them than your local poacher, hence the massive fine.

There's too much rape near me to make decoying that profitable. Once you start shooting they just bugger off to the next field. V frustrating. Had a reasonable day on the rooks the other day though. Theres a field of drilled wheat close by, the only one for miles, and they were pulling up the shoots. I shot twenty in two hours. They were canny though, maintaining a respectable distance. I must have missed 30 trying to shoot em too far out. I reckon the rape will be seriously taking off soon though with the warmer weather.

How much does a knife like that go for?

I personally think that UKIP personnel aren't different from other parties, politicians are mostly the same, its their policies that are different. That's what you vote for. Politicians are human and subject to temptation. There'll never be a political party whose members do not have a skeleton in the closet somewhere What UKIP don't do is vilify you as a racist just because youre proud of your country, you object to immigrants robbing us of tax ( which could support things like the NHS or charities for instance), support the Union Jack which has been hijacked by the lefties as a racist sy

I'm no expert, I've only got three myself but I do release pheasants. If they've got a head twitch more than likely they may have parasitic worms, probably gapes. If I were you I would spend the £20 or whatever it is on the 1% Flubenvet solution to de worm them. I think the tip about the cider vinegar is to keep the gut acidic, which is a hostile environment for parasitic worms, so I would do that after the deworm to stop em coming back. Good luck

Ive got one down the length of my middle wicket I had done in Wales when I was drunk, which, at first examination says 'Mooch!'. When I get exited you can see it actually says 'Mondays to Sundays, life is good in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch'.

My FEO tried that one when he visited, the bolts must be kept separate from the guns. When I questioned the exact legislation that instructed me to do that, he looked sheepish before offering.. " well,,that's what I like to see". He wanted to see the bolts within the inner safe of the gunsafe, the ammo safe. But if you examine it, its ridiculous, The kind of blokes ( or maybe girls) who would burgle your house and decide to nick your guns would not look around for the keys, they'd rip the whole safe out, so they get everything, including ammo, to open at leisure in some warehouse later wit

I was rabbiting with a .22Lr auto once on the edge of a field lying on my belly. After about an hour, I sat up to stretch my back, and sat against an open gate post. I just sat there watching the sun dipping down and I looked across the field to a large wood. I saw a roebuck come out into the field from the wood about 200 yds away, and started mooching around in the grass. As he moved, I realised he was grazing his way towards me, or rather the gate I was sitting next to. I was wearing DPM cammo jacket and Realtree trousers with a DPM bush hat. I sat stock still and waited to see how close

If you're stuck, check out your local schools, especially nurseries and primaries. They normally have a spawn source for the kids to collect, lob it in a tank and watch the tads.

Scope Cross Hairs Lob Sided
Skull Hooker replied to dogmad riley's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
If the actual post have moved, yes, its knackered, but could be repaired, but not sure that its worth it on a scope of that value. How much do you want to spend? -
Avoid it like a two bob whore. Mine was a 52 plate. If the weather was too cold, sort of below -5 degrees, it wouldn't start. The glow plug kit isn't powerful enough to warm the pots. In that really cold winter we had a couple of years ago, it was on the drive for three weeks. The sunroof stopped working, the windscreen leaked and two gauges were US, (cant remember which) Really...if you don't listen to anything else I ever say...just listen to this..and avoid
