  1. Hi bud, got some RWS Superfields in 4.51mm if you fancy swapping a few, also AA Diablo Fields 4.52mm H&N FTT 4.50mm. Also got some H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme, not sure of the exact size! PM incoming John
  2. You could try one of these 3-12x44 30mm tube: http://www.leapers.c...tus=&mtrack=1m1 Great scope for the money and it would leave the loading port clear. Available from JSR for under £100 ATB, John
  3. You could fit an aperture sight to the scope rails but fitting a front sight would present a problem unless the silencer is removable, I used to use a Williams FP-AG-TK sporting aperture sight available here: http://www.airgunsofarizona.com/WilliamsGunSights.html ATB, John
  4. Leapers 3-12x44, great scope for under £100, I have the 3-9x44 on my HW77. Mounted on a Sportsmatch medium height mount, objective lens 2mm above the action, just enough room for the objective cover. http://www.jsramsbottom.com/products/riflescopes-leapers/swat31244ir36color-leapers-swat-3-12x44-full-size-illuminated-mil-dot-30mm-side-focus-scope-36-colou.html ATB, John
  5. Lovely rifle and a bargain if in good order, what calibre? ATB, John
  6. After a break of nearly 30 yrs I bought a HW77K, and fitted a V-Mach kit myself, very straightforward with a few basic tools, plenty of info on the Weihrauch Owners Club site, I'll post some links with photos if you'd like. You won't regret it, great rifles the HW's, IMHO it would be a false economy to buy a cheaper rifle and tune it only to sell it on and buy a Weihrauch. ATB, John
  7. Yes the RWS Superfield I do Yes I understand that, but it's not always the case that you need a more expensive pellet, having said that my HW77K isn't very pellet fussy, shoots most quality pellets consistently.
  8. That's a bit of a sweeping statement, I'm having great results with RWS Superfield 4.51mm and Superdomes, they're hardly the most expensive pellets. ATB, John
  9. I'd be tempted to get one of these, excellent scope: http://www.jsramsbot...e-36-colou.html Or if money's really tight the JSR branded Leapers: http://www.jsramsbot...-up-covers.html Either will leave the loading port clear. ATB, John
  10. I believe Pellet perfect have ceased trading recently, it's a pity, well recommended. ATB, John
  11. £ seems a little excessive for a service and after 100-200 pellets it should not be deiseling, I'd suggest taking the gun to someone else. ATB, John
  12. Second dibbs, but would prefer it without the scope if possible. ATB, John
  13. The Leapers are very recoil resistant and have good optics, they're on the heavy side though, can't comment on the Hawke as I've never owned one. ATB, John
  14. Hi Simon, unfortunately not, but I have shot with one, I had a friend whos father was stationed at Burtonwood air base, I believe the rifle was brought over from the US. I did own a BSF 54 some years ago, wish I'd kept it, apparently they're quite rare these days. I bought the BSF from Manchester Airguns, couldn't afford the HW77 at the time. I've always been a big fan of underlever air rifles and owned quite a few as well as a Webley Osprey sidelever which I never really took to for some reason. Is the Airking the semi-recoiless model? I have to agree with your comments on the HW80 , alt
  15. The RWS Diana 460 Magnum is a very good 20+ ft/lb springer, not as awkward to cock and load as the Model 48/52 sidelever and very accurate. ATB, John
  16. Leapers 3-12x44, virtually indistructible, 3x mag for close range, parallax down to under 10yds: http://www.tacticalscope.co.uk/leapers-3-12x44-swat-mildot-36-colour-30mm-rifle-scope--weaver-mounts-308-p.asp Check out the real world tests http://s51.photobucket.com/albums/f392/we34gde4/?action=view&current=P1050059.mp4 ATB, John
  17. Unfortunately I believe the Leapers are only available mail order from either JSR or this outlet: http://www.tacticals...rs-utg-61-c.asp http://www.tacticalscope.co.uk/leapers-3-12x44-swat-mildot-36-colour-30mm-rifle-scope--weaver-mounts-308-p.asp ATB, John
  18. I'd recommend the Leapers 3-12x44, great scope for the money, clear optics, very well built. It'll leave the loading port clear on the HW77 when fitted, mounted on a Sportsmatch 039c one piece, very low, 2mm clear of the action. http://www.jsramsbot...e-36-colou.html http://www.leapers.com/prod_detail.php?mitem=optic&level1=Tube_Diameter&level2=30mm&itemno=SCP3-U312AOIEW&status=&mtrack=1m1 ATB, John
  19. Should be fine, the Vibration Reduction (VR) is self contained in the lens, Nikon have always maintained a reasonable amount of backwards compatibility when producing lenses so there shouldn't be any issues. Hope this helps. ATB, John
  20. Thanks Simon, I know what you mean by loving it to the point of obsession, it's a great rifle as standard but I've fine tuned it to my liking, The set back trigger made quite a difference to my shooting and despite buying an Accushot mount originally, which was more than acceptable, once I discovered the Sportsmatch mount was 2mm lower I just had to try one. My last rifle back in the 's was a BSA Airsporter S, fine rifle, but the HW77 is in another league IMHO. Best of luck with the competition next year if you decide to enter, but by all accounts you probably won't need it ATB, J
  21. I was just curious as a friend of mine, who's opinion I value, said that the HW97K was more hold sensitive than either his HW77K or TX200. The new stock design is not dissimilar from the HW97, having said that, the changes to the barrel etc may have altered the resonance and as you say each individual rifle will have it's own unique character. I think my rifle is the later model with a definite right bias to the cheekpiece but I love the classical lines and it balances superbly between the hands. It's changed a little from the image, now fitted with lower mount and set back t
  22. There is a standard Beech stock version, although the laminate looks quite striking ATB, John
  23. I wonder how the hold sensitivity will be affected by the new stock design. John
  24. Same here, I used a 'Sharpie' to cover up some of the scratches on the tube of a Leapers scope, worked a treat. ATB, John
