  1. socks is trying to educate you about the best way to feed a dog and not to give the poor dog shit complete biscuit
  2. again tho your comparing the terrain, wasnt the argument about brown v irish hare?? i know which hare would last the longest on open ground no matter what dog. your mentioning saluki types wouldnt have a chance over there, thats true, the same as some of the plodders wouldnt have a sniff sometimes where we run,but however if you put those dogs behind a irish hare on the fen and it would be tied up twice as quick as a brown fen hare
  3. if you put the irish hare on big land over here it would get caught a lot quicker than a brown hare.
  4. i still reckon barnfield on air will come good even after the performance in scottish derby,i reckon he will come good if the rain holds off
  5. could of been flapped, you wouldnt find out what he is then
  6. smart colouring on that pup, looks a nice type to
  7. has to be daytime coursing, its far superior sport, but those hares can run at night aswell, ive seen a few runs at night go on for nearly 2 mins, but when we lamp them its on big ground not small paddocks. max,how many people can you honestly say youve seen give law daytime?????do you????
  8. would be o.k i reckon,i know a lot ot the lads around my way that used them for coursing and they were supposed to be top notch
  9. if your dogs are wormed regular it shouldnt be a problem,i wouldnt take a chance with bones that have been boiled, they splinter very easily and are a hazzard that can be avoided
  10. dont give her anything, just feed her when you get home
  11. apollo you might not drink a drop, but i bet those 2 in the picture would drink your share, theyre parshall to a drop
  12. never ever seen a featherd half cross, and i was led to believe that they dont exist as the greyhound gene is to dominent in the half cross so that the feathering never comes through.never the less a nice looking dog
  13. you get what you pay for with coursing dogs.but what does my head in is when people breed their not so good dogs just because the future pups grandparents were good dogs,if the direct parents are not that good then they should not get bred from in my opinion.i would not buy a pup of bad breeding myself like the old saying goes, you dont get derby winners from donkeys
  14. have you still got the bitch for sale mate,my mate is after that very cross, can you p.m me your number or do you want his.she would go to 100% working home with a good dog man.in south wales but travel not an issue
  15. everyones biggest fear when running their pups for the first couple of sessions lamping,my first lamping dog used to do it on his first couple of runs, then would quieten down, that was my own fault for running him at 5 months old ,you live and learn.i now dont enter my dogs untill 11 months at the earliest.once they start they never stop in my opinion.owning a yapper is something i would never personally own again but each to their own
  16. doubled up aint taking stuff is it
  17. who needs a gun when theres animals like that about, just the tool.
  18. sometimes they eat it to supplement their diet, and other times its to clean the bile up of their stomachs, greyhound lads give their dog soda crystals to clear bile of their stomachs every now and again. so the point is,if your dog is eating grass then your either feeding them wrong or they have to much bile.
  19. i wouldnt be running a young dog under full moon conditions, wait untill conditions are a bit better
  20. got to agree with luke, why give the hare law if it could out run a dog in a straight line to the nearest cover, coursing greyhounds close a hare down in seconds after its given law
  21. could be a thyroid problem like a lot of greyhounds suffer from
  22. this thread is fecking crazy, ive had this same argument with people before. the reason you dont catch threes regular in other places is'nt because the hares are better but because your not just against the hare, your against the fences, hedges etc.if you took the hares from your local places and placed them on the fen you can guarantee they would get caught a lot quicker than a big strong fen hare, when have you ever seen a dog on your local places run for 5,6 or 7 minutes?i think the answer would be never.

  24. does anybody on here actually hunt their dogs or do you all just come on here to slag people of,the boy only asked would a dog do one,he never said he ran one or caught one or ever had the intension of doing so,he just asked a simple question which could of been answered by a simple answer. in answer to your question mate in my opinion there are a lot of good bull x's out their that would kill them no problem.
