    WC Thanks for taking the time to try to achieve something positive after the charade of the EPTS show, i have been banging my head against the same brick wall for fifteen years, and as stated earlier, the new blood could and should have gone on a sub register with the inclusion of the best stock onto the main register- simple. Out of interest, are your lines eligable registration should you so wish, it would be a shame to produce typey working dogs that get lost to the breed.     Samba Tell me more, what happened to the litter, any dogs still around and if so are they healthy. never mind genetic theories, lets do it the old fashioned way, if the stock has lived to a ripe old age without any health issues then we can presume that line is good. If not that line is suspect and needs investigation. There is a facebook page for uploading pictures if anyone has anything positive to contribute, as much info on the new blood is what we are interested in, both good and bad, health issues nothing else. cheers Tim.

    There have been faults, but in all honesty, the faults have increased the less new blood % in the sire or dam. Now i am going to use new blood/new blood stock with as high % bull as possible, the use of remlap stock distracted the project away from Brians wishes. He felt 3/4 to 3/4 stock was the way forward. This is unfinished business as far as i am concerned.     Good point, survey the whole breed, grade the dogs and bitches against the breed standard(breed shows are supposed to be for this reason) and form a breeding group, run by a commitee made up of respected members from all clubs. Pendragon,pinsley,oakfield,pitmans, saxon and stonyford and others. The breed standard is the same for all clubs so no arguing over that, job done. The PTA were the original club, the PTCGB set up for the new blood, now the new blood has been accepted onto the data base, the two clubs should come together, this is the sticking point, The EPTS members should join the

    WC, speak to Gareth, there must be some high % new blood dogs around and if so they are long lived. There was a new blood bitch in cumbria, went to a working lad, worked everything so i was told.. Legion ZY, nine over coalport Jill, right good stamp of a bitch but bridle and white, earned a right good rep for earth work - somewhere to start. all the best Tim.

    well, what can i, thanks for taking the trouble, as stated earlier my experience with the oc programme leads me to belief the new blood dogs should be surveyed via Gareth, see whats still alive and healthy, look for some percentage new blood on both sides and use that stock whilst its still alive, give it five years and if there is no improvement sit down to discuss another outcross. I rated the new blood dogs over Legion pure lines, but they are Remlap and dont suit kennel life, too much going on in their heads, need a lot of work.     The new blood was introduced fifteen years ago, now is the time to appraise the results honestly, if this breed is ever to move forward then all owners must come forward and contribute. If another outcross is needed, then lets get on with it as a whole, but there can be no re writting the breed standard to suit, otherwise they will cease to be terriers and we might as well all go home....

    I will start the ball rolling, as mentioed before on this site, legion used various lines, coalport, sonotal, the new bull blood and remlap. After fifteen years, the lines i prefer are the red/max stock, both lived to a good age, red never developed any health issues and max passed away full of beans but senile. Remlap stock was always full on but as far as know healthy. The sonotal line started with Todd over the new blood bitch lucy, producing NPG alpha, the house dog loved food and a tad overweight, after a night out lamping with the pack she collapsed, recovered but developed epilepsy a
