  1. Looking for a jill or two, prefferably ready to work early season, Manchester, Sheffield or surrounding areas
  2. You've got more to lose than Colin if you piss him off, your guns etc. I had the police visit me once when one of the neighbours reported me for shootin a squirrel which was living in my loft, I got it at the eves. The copper was ok when i explained things, but wouldn't tell me which neighbour it was, good job really because when I calmed down I realised the do gooder wasn't worth it. Look on the brightside, at least your name isn't Colin!
  3. Where is the pup bred? I have one of same cross she's from Barnsley, very fast indeed, there was a blue in the litter I nearly went for but chose the red. More speed than brains but good stamina too, lovely cross
  4. I'm in Manchester but spend much of my time in Sheffield (S2) as girlfriend lives there, anyone fancy showing me and my bedlington a day bushing, gis a shout. Also got a runner but one thing at a time Mart
  5. Let me assure you lads, if you are inside the railway perimiter fence without permission from Network Rail, it IS TRESSPASS, irrespective of what the maintainence boys may tell you, it's the B.T police who will take a dim view, as they are hot on the heels of cable theft. Best you get permission, and assure the local N/R manager that you will not stray within a specified distance (prefferably in writing) to avoid a hefty fine
  6. where are you mate, I've got a bedlington needs a bit of a mooch, you got some permission?
  7. Just read the above. I may be being cynical, but I reckon there's 'other forces' at work here. It's no coincidence that the Scottish government have been trying to ban airguns altogether, We had riots a couple of years ago, and I reckon the politicians are doing such a crap job of running the country, they're worried about an eventual backlash, and don't want the masses to have any chance of fighting back. jmo, but as most of US know, the real criminals use illegally held firearms, and the authorities don't know where to find most of them. But as they wreck our country, they also misjudg
  8. Most of us have opinions as hunters we are entitled to even if we haven't been to S.A But canned hunting of doped up endangered species is hardly sport is it? It's not exactly getting rid of a problem fox, or feeding the kids a rabbit stew is it? Get real, if you disagree with this insult to the natural environment, that does NOT make you an anti.
  9. Thanks for the replies, specially to pianoman, plenty to think about there.
  10. I'm only in Wythenshawe Terri May. If ever you need to chat, feel free!
  11. As I'm new to the forum, forgive me if this has already been asked. As I'm in the market for a new springer, I fancy something with a bit more 'clout' so was wondering about fac airifles, or should I say the fac itself. Is the licence as stringent for a higher powered air weapon as it would be for a firarm proper, or is there a lower grade licence, as it is still an air weapon? I just want a bit more distance and stopping power for rabbit shooting, I've read where lads have stopped rabbits at decent distances using these but don't fancy the idea of a full police check as per a 'proper gun'
  12. The wbf tend to be against registered bedlingtons, and most on there will tell you k'c dogs are mostly show stuff, there is some evidence of this, but there are 'some' purebred working type bedlingtons around. The main argument from the registered side is that even if you use an outcross bedlington, ie bedlington x lakeland ( in whatever proportions) is that the bedlington component must have come from the same origins as the bedlingtons they so hate! It's a minefield mate, so good luck in your search!
  13. I'v not had a dog for years, and not hunted for longer, but now the kids are managable I'm going to enjoy a bit of mooching with my little fella. The running dog i'm hoping will be a pot filler, so fun times ahead. thanks again for the welcome folks
  14. Hi Albert, Wythenshawe mate, and I'm a red!Furrituss I was confusing you with a mate Bri from co.Antrim
  15. thanks for the welcome. was struggling getting to grips with this internet thing! Furritus, you wouldn't have a bedlington and a bedlington lurcher by any chance would you?
