As above...can anyone recommend a few decent DVD's about coursing and/or lamping? Preferably Whippets but any Lurcher/Sighthound on rabbits and hare (pre ban). I've seen a couple on ebay though not sure which 1's to buy. Cheers

Danish Oil Stock Finish
AirgunGuy replied to hedge hunter's topic in Countryside Skills, Craft & DIY
Not to sure for Danish Oil but after i did mine with the Birchwood Casey kit, a wipe down with Ballistol every now and then should keep it in good nic -
All in good time, I would say. Someone will eventually do something about it!!!

Mine is the same. The battery has been knackered for a couple of years now but I just have to keep it turned on at the mains and it's fine. The only thing I've noticed is that it can over heat so I have to make sure there's an air flow around the fan inlet. Yours may have had the same problem. If it's over heated and crashed then there may be damage to something on the motherboard. As for running slow...if you can get it booted up you should go into system tools and clean the hard drive...it may be loaded with old web pages and other crap. Could also defrag the hard drive...may make it run a b

It's beyond belief just how much they've got away with. Surely the law should be doing something about if there were enough complaints against them??? Other than that...their names and whereabouts have been out in the public domain for some time now...why haven't they been done in???
-
Surprised it's not happened by now. If it was up here it would've happened long ago and they wouldn't be able to hold a rifle again!!!

Love the tarty lookin blonde sort...probably got a black box ;-)
-
I just gave mine a bath in the sink with a small amount of dog flea shampoo...done the job and no harm done to the ferrets ;-)

Go on to FishTay site...find out the beats that are allowing it and Rob's your mothers brother ;-) To the best of my knowledge the ban has been lifted on the whole system but only certain beats will allow it ;-)

When I got my GSP bitch as a pup I was advised if I was gonna train her to retrieve etc then never to play tug with her though I can understand now that it could be used for the "leave" command. Great thing forums...always learning ;-)
-
Would you recommend tug games with a dog that you want to retrieve and pass something to you? :-)Training the leave command very easy when playing tug. No different to the police dogs doing arm work Yes but we're not talking about police dogs that are trained to bite hard and hold...we're talking about working dogs that we want to be soft mouthed and to get something back that isn't a bag of mince :-)

Principles are nothing to do with it mate...the £ rules every time. I've seen a prime beat on the Dee that I fish going from 75 quid per day to 150 quid (100 quid dearer at prime time) in the last few years because catches are better but what most people don't know is that the catches have been boosted by other less conventional methods...fact and caught in the act!!! The cost was acceptable until it went over the 100 quid mark but now it's getting beyond the working man again and it won't be long until it'll be lord this and major general that that will only be able to fish!!! There are sever

Still too young for that kind of stuff I would say. Her bones are still growing and developing and more harm than good could be done. An hr or 2 free running and throwing a dummy/retrieving etc should be enough for the next few months imho ;-)
-
Agreed...some stunning looking dogs and great action pics. Can only get better when the season starts. Keep em coming ;-)

Aye true mate but there's nothing better than going down some streamy pool on the Dee or Tweed...waist deep in the flow...small Silver Stoat swinging nicely through the stream and in a fraction of a second all hell breaks loose as the reel is screaming with a 20lb'er that decides to head back to the North Sea ;-)Each to their own you say...I know how I would rather have them ;-) Never done any fly fishing to be honest! ill have to give it a go one day, cant be any more boring than bait fishing ohh a nice shrimp trotting down the current is about the best/most reliable/effective way to get

At 11 months she's still a pup. Worst thing you can do is chase after her...she'll see it as a game. Give her a rest for a couple of months and stick with the dummy's ;-)
-
Was thinkin that myself. Do what the rest of us do...pay for a ticket and catch them on rod and line!!! i use rod and line.... with treble hook and lamp cant be doing with paying to sit for hours and catching f**k all, get bored after 5 mins lol You can't be doing it right then if you're catchin fcuk all ;-)

Apparently the upper and lower jaw can grow at different rates as the pup matures. Looked into it a bit when I got my GSP bitch. Her jaw was/is quite bad mind you and didn't correct itself. As said...doesn't affect her in any way. Hopefully yours will ;-)
-
This'll be fun ;-)
-
My GSP bitch is undershot. Doesn't affect the dog unless it's a show dog. How badly overshot are they? They may come good being so young.

I think the only difference between the MK3M and MK3 is the magnet on the end of the box. The collars that come with the box will be calibrated to that box. If you buy more collars then I think they have to be calibrated to your box or they may be a wee bit out. I bought a box with 1 collar which works spot on. The other 2 collars that I bought are just a wee bit out though not much. I think that's how it works ;-)

Aye would make great wee rabbitin dogs ;-) ran out of likes good we dog been out with it getting better every time Cheers Davy. Aye mate...he's gettin better all the time. I've had some great fun with him. Couldn't ask any more of him. There's still the odd 1 turns him inside out but that's all part of the fun KEEPS GOING THE WAY HES GOING HE MIGHT END UP GETTING A RIDE AT WE TESS LOL
