  1. There's a vet in Glasgow quoted me 75 quid. Not sure if it affects it's temperament...wouldn't think so
  2. Jimi's brother Leon was just on Sky News talking about about a "Directors Cut" documentary that's getting aired next week some time. Feckers didn't say which channel or when. If anyone knows can you add here please? Somethin to look forward to
  3. Cheers mate. Hopefully get him done as soon as I get a chance ;-)
  4. Been hearing bits and pieces on the news...may be an inside job!
  5. Getting mine done soon. Where does the funding come from? Cheers.
  6. Doesn't AA do a heavier version of their pellet in .177? I'm sure they do in .22 ;-)
  7. They were all great in their own way but would they have been as creative or produced the stuff they did without acid, heroin or other drugs???
  8. I'm boiling up a dozen rabbits just now and will remove the all meat from the bone and bin the bones. I personally wouldn't give my dogs any small bones at all as to me it's just not worth the risk. It seems most people do feed carcasses with bone without any problems but it only takes 1 instance and the dogs dead or it's a hefty vet bill. Not worth the risk for me. Just my opinion ;-)
  9. Stunning photography...ever thought of doin it professionally? ;-)
  10. I've fished the town water once and had a 14lb'er at the Purls. I've also fished U. Nithsdale AA water a couple of times. 1st time was early Nov...had 2 around the 7-8lb mark and lost a bigger fish. 2nd time around Sept. No fish that time as it was a bit early for up that end. Water was perfect...just no fish. I always try and get a couple of days from mid Oct onwards ;-)
  11. Goo going again mate. What beat are you on?
  12. Excellent mate. Did you get it on the Nith?
  13. And couldn't read music. Whether he was/is the best or not is debatable but he certainly changed the face of music at the time with his style. Love his stuff...just a shame as with so many others that we didn't get more from him.
  14. You obviously got a better look at it but I'd bet my house it's a salmon or grilse. Everything about it says salmon. There's nothing there at all that says seatrout. Did you get a scale sample? Good fishing though and well done. Bet the wee fella enjoyed it ;-)
  15. Top pic looks more like a Grilse than a seatrout.
  16. 1 theory is that there is less feeding at sea for them due to over fishing of their prey species and could also explain why they stay out at sea longer. The main Grilse runs used to be mid/late July...now it seems to be early/mid August so they're possibly staying out longer to feed. Grilse were usually 5-9lbs...now they're a lot smaller. I had a July Grilse a few years ago from the Tweed at 2lbs and skinny as a rake :-/
  17. Now that's what I call justice although if that were the UK the poor bloke would've been looking at life behind bars for murder or a lesser charge of manslaughter due to diminished responsibility or some pish like that. The mind boggles!!!
  18. Not sure mate. I think the more modern chargers will charge til it's full then cut off as mine does. Has yours got an indicator on it? The charger i use has a small led display that shows when fully charged then I think it stops charging. I normally check it every hour or so and switch off once charged.
  19. I charge mine the next day after being out. Charge it til it's full then check it on the day If I'm planning going out that night. It usually shows as being full whether it's 2 days or 2 weeks later. If the battery is in good nick it should hold the charge.
  20. Stunning dogs mate. What x's are they and what height? Cheers.
  21. Depends on what you're doing. If your lamping rabbits in smaller fields then I'd go for a Clulite Lazerlite and 14ah lead acid battery. If it's bigger fields your doing then a 170 Striker with 14ah lead acid battery. These are the set ups I use and work very well. The Lazerlite is around 50 quid new and the Striker around quid I think. I got a 14ah lead acid battery off ebay for 22.99 ;-)
  22. As above. Supposed to be 100watt but when I compared it to my Lazerlite it wasn't as bright. Stick to the tried and tested mate.
  23. I've a whippet at 21 1/2tts and he's game for anything that pops up in the beam. He's seen everything there is to see when out lamping and wants to go though I only run him on rabbits big and small. If there were no ban then the only way I'd slip him on a fox would be doubled up with a bigger, hardier and more experienced dog. I'm not sure how he would respond to taking a bite...whether he'd back off or get stuck in. As said before...dogs for jobs. While they're game for anything wee dogs, they are at their best and more suited to rabbits imho.
  24. I have a mk3m and find it an invaluable bit of kit. Picks up the collars in a 16ft radius then switch to find depth. I think the mk1 only gives depth. Either or...definitely a must if you want your ferrets back ;-)
