  1. Hi folks. We shoot on th 13th of November. How old would my poults need to be at that time to be sure they were fully feathered and strong enough? Would 20 weeks do it? Cheers.
  2. Aye. You got me. Missing you being around up here. Any help appreciated. Cheers.
  3. Fit like? I saw someone advertising poults in the glorious P & J a couple of weeks back which seemed local but didn't write down the number. Does anyone have it or a contact for 300 poults for this year?I Thanks a lot. Beef.

  7. Hi folks. I will be going to Byron bay at the end of February and wondered if anyone could give me any contacts for pigs or goats anywhere near there? I lived in Gippsland for two years so can speak the language pretty well for a Jock. I am a pretty unfit 50something year old but would love to get a pig if at all possible. Tips for organised hunts welcome but would prefer going out with locals if possible, Distance wouldn't be an object and I could guarantee some of whisky that the like of which has never been tasted in your great country. If you can help then please get in touch. Thanks.
  8. A friend of mine saw a calf quite close to the road the other day and off it went with the doe. He went to look at the spot and here are another three calves very newly born. He left them to see if mother would come back and on returning a few hours later they were still there. He thought that mum had taken off with the oldest calf and left the others so he took two away. He returned a few hours later again and the last calf was still there so it went home as well. Question is. Anyone ever heard of quads before? I personally have seen three but this seems hard to accept.

  12. The Aussies don't mince words One thing about blokes from Oz is that their hearts and humour are always in the right place! T B. Bechtel, a City Councillor from Newcastle, Australia, was asked on a local live radio talk show, just what he thought about the allegations of torture of suspected terrorists. His reply prompted his ejection from the studio, but to thunderous applause from the audience. HIS STATEMENT: 'If hooking up one dirty little terrorist prisoner's testicles to a car battery to get the truth out of the lying little camelshagger will save just one Aus
  13. Hi Guys. Loving your posts Ned. I lived in South Gippsland Victoria for a couple of years and you blokes have just absolutely no idea how lucky those australians are when it comes to hunting. Millons of acres of Crown land which anyone can hunt. Every kind of derr you can imagine including the mighty Sambar. Wild dogs which need controlling Donkeys ,camelsand horses which are classed as vermin and as many foxes as anyone could want. I had a friend who took me one time to see if we could get a pig because he knew how much I wanted to say that I had done it. We headed off on a 12 hour dr
  14. Nae very far from you Ali and we have cancelled this weekends shooting over two spots. Apart from the going being pretty tough I personally think it is a bit hard on the birds as well. Everything is relying on us to keep them alive and I must admit that for some reason I don't see it as very sporting. Have decided to try and have a go nearer the end of the season.
  15. RIP gents. Flew out of Bond just after it had happened but in a 225. Didn't know about it til we got here. First thought was to phone home but luckily a good boss had already done that. Loads of flights and I would think it is probably safer than being in your car but did send the shivers up the spine yesterday.
  16. Think it has maybe been on before but cracks me up. Definately an "only scots"one A Wee Scottish Tale. A man is cupping his hand to scoop water from a Highland burn. A Gamekeeper shouts, 'Dinnae drink thon waater! It's foo ae coo's keech an' pish!' The man replies, 'My Good fellow, I'm English. Could you repeat that in English for me.' The keeper replies, 'I said, use two hands - you spill less that way!!!
  17. Bought one of these for the youngster for Christmas. Any opinions on which is the best call to use or what does anyone have most success with? Cheers. Beef.

  19. Thanks for that. Got you now. Even I might manage that. Have you had much success with it. I have another about 2ft square but have never managed a fox. Lots of other stuff though. A mate got a couple of cubs with it last year but that is all. Thanks a lot though. Beef (Fae gods country.)
  20. Just got myself a roll of 3" mesh 45" high. Would 45" be long enough for a fox cage and any chance of someone putting up a closer picture or a design for the sliding door trap and the trigger mechanism?? Cheers folks. Need this ASAP as we have a fox taking lambs locally.
  21. There is a bloke at a place called Forgue near Huntly in Aberdeenshire who rears Grouse and some Caper. Google that and see if you come up with anything, if you don't have any joy give me a shout and I will find out a contact number for you.
