So my mate and I got a proper soaking this afternoon with next to no wildlife on the permisson.
waiting patiently in a hedgerow for pigeons I noticed some movement in a tree behind my oppo, so I took a knee and shouldered the rifle and watched.
A gift of a close range squirrel about 10m away showed his face and stopped at the end of a branch, I pushed forward the safety, placed the crosshair behind his eye, took up the first stage and squeezed.
He did a bat impression and hung on to the branch for a bit before dropping to the ground.
