  1. And breathe lol. Nice ferrets them mate
  2. I just bought these, never had any problems and they last a while http://www.amazon.co.uk/Duracell-394-1-55v-Silver-Battery/dp/B002NRSKR8/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1355072740&sr=1-3
  3. Sure its 394 watch batteries, silver oxide
  4. Haha thats what our dad has just said when i came through the door with 3 bottles and a tin of biccies, tight get our dad mind and wouldn't even send a text as it would cost him 10p lol
  5. Thought this would be the general consensus and i find it only helps you in the long run. Might seem trivial at the time, but i have gained permission from one of my farmers speaking about me down the pub.
  6. Do any of you give anything to your permissions owner/s at christmas? Got talking about this at work today and it was mixed, with a few saying yes and a few saying no. I do personally, just a bottle of whisky/rum/brandy, just to show a bit of appreciation, as lets be honest, they don't have to let you on their land and i am greatful for them doing so, as it allows me to do what i love. Any of you do the same, as one lad couldn't get his head around it and thought i was daft?
  7. Lol true that like nobby
  8. I just use metal tent pegs, with an elastic band around it, never had any problems with them. Although i am looking at using hardwood pegs after getting some top nets off Andy Kelly, mainly for how much better they look.
  9. Same on my permissions, get a few ferreting during the day - 8-12, but none seem to be about when out lamping on a night with the rifle. Weird season upto now and definately has something to do with the weather im sure.
  10. Yeah full clean the court once a fortnight, remove all the bedding, remove all the shavings, hose it down, wash with warm soapy water. Any shit gets removed straight away and litter trays get emptied once a day. Got 2 litter trays in the court and 1 in the small hutch, which normally the ferrets use. Water gets changed daily and twice a day during the winter incase the nozzle has frozen. Meat is put in on a night and then removed on a morning, this is the only time flies are present and soon go when the food is took out. But if you say you dont get any flies then you are very lucky. This works
  11. Feed meat on a night when its getting dark and have a net curtain that is hung over the mesh doors during the summer. Also clean them out morning and night and full clean the hutch once a week and the court once a fortnight. Still get the flies but not swarms of them.
  12. Banana?? Chicken bits, rabbits, pigeons, crows, magpies, mince, lung/liver/heart from the butchers, fish.
  13. Top of the page there is a sticky about net makers, i got some off Andy Kelly and they are top notch, but tbh most in that thread will get recommendations from many on here
  14. Put some more holes in like has been said. I tighten it up so you can rotate it around their neck, but it can't be pulled over their head. What you have to remember, especially this time of year, is that their coat is thick so when you think it is tight, chances are its not
  15. Stretch177

    t bar

Ive also got 2 that i made from work, one is around 1 1/2ft the other is just over 2ft, but tbh i never use them although i do take one of them with me when i go out. I've found that with using the collars there is'nt really a need for me to have to locate the tunnel, as 9/10 times the finder is bang on
  16. Well it looks like i will plum for the panorama then. Have read up on it and it sounds an excellent scope for the price. Cheers lads. Regards Stretch
  17. Going to get this rifle in the next couple of weeks and just wanted people's opinions on what would be the best scope to team it up with. Will be mainly used at dusk/dawn and lamping during the night. Ive been looking around at different information and reviews etc and tbh my heads a bit baffled lol, so many to choose from and not really knowing what i should be getting. I have around a £100-£130 budget, so any info or suggests are most welcome. Cheers Stretch
  18. Ive only used/had the mk3m so will obviously have to say that, never had any problems with it touch wood
  19. Tried to PM you regarding a ferret wheel but i keep getting an error message. If you can PM me that would be great Regards Stretch
  20. Well in davey lad. Don't know what your opinions on rescued ferrets being good workers are, but for me, i have 2 and they are both top notch, good grafters. I don't know why but people i have spoken to who have also rescued ferrets and worked them have the same opinion. Does anybody think that if they have been mistreated and then they get a good caring home, that they somehow want to 'repay' you back?? Might sound daft, but out of the ferrets i currently have, the 2 best are both rescued, a jill and a hob
  21. Ive used the dogs old bed, made a small cut in the corners and its tied up with bungee rope that i had. They use it like a trampoline as well as sleeping and play fighting on it, funny as watching them. Alternatively an old pillow case, bed sheet, t-shirt etc.
  22. Fecking pi55es me off this. God help anybody who tries or does nick mine, lets just say i would spend a few years locked up for it.
  23. Yeah i just use army trousers and get my missus to sew leather patches on the knee's, incase i have to kneel down to dig etc.
