Hi all, I have ordered myself the tactical stock from Daystate for the Air Ranger, which should be arriving next Friday, so once I have received it, I shall be selling my 2 week old Walnut Air Ranger stock, as shown here:- So if there's anybody interested in purchasing it, then please make me a sensible offer Thanks

Target Shooting In The Garden
KurtH replied to KurtH's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Don't worry guys....I've killed all my neighbours, so there'll be no more complaints Just messing 'm gonna have a go at building my industrial backstop tomorrow. Then I'm going to call Humberside Police to come and inspect my pellet trap. I'm then going to get the council to come and test the noise output, and finally, I will approach my neighbours and explain that I'm doing everything in an orderly manner -

Target Shooting In The Garden

If they truly believed that your pellet had hit someone, they would have taken your gun there and then, as that is a proper criminal offence. What a load of . They make up these blatant lies to get a response. As you say, at 20m, they'd probably be in hospital, not whinging about the noise. As far as the noise complaint, unless you have your target attached to a metal bucket, that is also rubbish. As you know persistent noise complaints are investigated by some council jobsworth with a microphone, and I doubt he would have much to record. Just make sure you don't stop doing what you are leg -

Do you have a noisy backstop? Can beleive I've just asked that :-) Not now I don't. Luckily I decided to make the backstop today. It's a chest of drawers, which I have taken the backing off, and turned around, therefore creating 5 different shelves/levels that I can shoot at. This is packed with an old duvet and an old rug. Behind the backstop is a dismantled bed headboard and bed footboard. A shotgun wouldn't get through it, let alone a pellet, lol -

It's not even had 40 pellets through it yet, so think it will be ok for now, but I'll definately keep an eye on it -

This is my air rifle:- What I don't get is the noise complaint. It's fitted with a Weihrauch silencer and it's sooooooooo quiet. It's a PCP so there's no loud spring twanging etc. Think they're just moaning about anything they can, because they know there's not alot they can do -

The police have just been Apparently there were 2 complaints last night 1 was a noise complaint, and the other, apparently somebody was struck with a pellet and they believe it came from my address I guess I must of missed my 6ft by 4ft backstop and shot one through the 3/4 of an inch gap in the fence and hit the passer by Something tells me the passer by was slightly exagerating as I'm sure if he was him by a .22 pellet at 20 metres, I would possibly be getting tazered and not posting on this wall He didn't even ask to see my gun -

Thanks Walshie. Knowing this cheers me up Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm not sure they would go to the police, as they may get nicked themselves for being extremely heavy cannabis users, lol -

Thanks for the quick reply Tony. Yes, the gun is silenced, the only slight bit of noise is from the impact of the pellet. Do you think it would help matters if I show them my 'target' and maybe explain that there is no chance of them being injured. The fence is 6ft high that divides us too, so there's no we they should feel threatened -
Right, so I've got my new Daystate Air Ranger, and I'm shooting a few targets in the garden. I then hear my next door neighbour, talking (or should I say moaning) to their next door neighbour about somebody shooting an air rifle/air pistol. Here's the situation - There's a ten foot at the bottom of my garden, where people and cars, can both travel. Where do I stand shooting down my garden, if I have a backstop (big converted chest of drawers) to prevent pellets leaving my property, or should I shoot back up the garden towards the house?

The tactical stocks are nice on them though, it feels like it sticks to your hand, very clever stuff. Glad I went with Daystate, excellent quality -

It was between the Air Ranger and the Tactical Airwolf, but a gun that needs a key and that needs plugging into a wall socket to charge is just weird -

The only Weihrauch springer I had was the HW98. It could shoot through twice as many cans of lager as the BSA Lightning Tactical (empty cans of course) It was an amazing gun, although it was quite heavy ive heard good reports about the weihrauch springers mate but ive been swayed into getting a huntsman or a rapid which wil be used for rabbits and rats im not into shooting empty cans Well I would have tested it on numerous rabbits/rats, but it took far to long getting them all to stand in a line -

I've just seen the shot count of the HW100, and for something as heavy as that, I think I'd prefer twice as many shots per charge. Think I'm going to go with either the BSA R10 mk2, or the Daystate Air Ranger. Just 1 whole day to go....Eeeeeeeek I will upload a photo of my final decision -
A similar thing happened to my wife when purchasing a mobile off eBay. She stupidly transferred cash to the sellers bank account. Apparently they did it to quite a few people and are now spending a year in Prison....hopefully getting turd burgled
