  1. Ah, those sort of people! Two ways I would play it: 1) Complain to the Council, your local Councillor, your Parish Council and Environmental Health with pictures and if possible video evidence along with a diary of events. 2) As D.S. said, catch in a live trap and take to the RSPCA. nice idea that one. /Mad
  2. Good answer DS. Always maintain the upper hand by staying within the law. You can't be faulted that way. /Mad
  3. Sorry to hear about the sad loss of kits. @Mickey, I'm about to get some ferrets for the first time and would like to start off on the right foot. Could I also please have some pearls of your infinite wisdom? Oh, and thanks Mickey. It is people like you who really do make learning such a pleasure. I feel comfortable being able to ask questions on this board in an effort to better understand the animal I am to look after, without in any way feeling that someone will be judgemental or harsh. /Mad
  4. @woodga how many of these Mk1's do you have? No wonder they are so hard to come by (for a decent price) you have half the stock in your house. /Mad
  5. Maybe they just need a good meal of fresh rabbit to get them running about! I can drop one off tomorrow for you if you want? Will be in the afternoon as we have our clay club BBQ in the morning. /Mad
  6. Thats really good news to end the week on. So pleased for both the ferret and your daughter. /Mad
  7. Not sure I like what the squirrel caught in that first picture... Good work there! I shot our woods clear of squirrels a while back but more have moved in since. As long as we all do our bit. /Mad
  8. That 3rd picture of the wee mite fallen asleep in his grub is wonderful. I feel like that after a hearty meal. /Mad
  9. Hoodie trap... that must be a parked car with a handbag on the front seat. Guaranteed to catch a hoodie as he smashes the window to nick it. /Mad
  10. Yup, laid a concrete floor but thought laminate would be warmer and more comfortable for them and with a few coats of external grade varnish, pretty waterproof. Would make it nice and easy to clean out. /Mad
  11. Good work there mate, like the corner protectors. Different as well, nothing worse than looking like everyone else. BTW: Is that off a Sherman Mk3 or Mk2? /mad
  12. @doddsy Well done mate. DS will be along soon for some tips! /Mad
  13. I know! But it looks like they are in a hutch with the wire cage and box in the background! I think that is what jamestingle was meaning when he said: carpet???? lamenate floor?????? come on BTW, I was thinking of laying laminate flooring in the court I am building. Got given a whole stack of used flooring and thought the ferts could use it, turned out to be Junkers and about 30sqm so it is going down in the lounge.
  14. wtf its wood flooring and the kits are sleeping on vet bedding whats your point????? I sort of took it as: From the first photo it looks as though the kits are in their hutch and they have laminate flooring with a carpet! /mad
  15. Just love the way they are all sleeping on each other. Oh so cute. /Mad
  16. @Hob&Jill, hope this doesn't give you any ideas when I come to have a look at your kits this w/end! /Mad
  17. Guys... guys... guys... he sounds like a 14 year old winding everyone up. In fact I would guess younger, my 8 year old son would say things like: "AHH FERRETLOVE has fat pet ferrets" So can we just let this thread sink quickly to the bottom of the forum and add him to our ignore user list (click on his profile to do this). That way we can get back to normal. /Mad
  18. And putting them into context.... After a shared KFC we moved on to another youthful haunt. Sounds like a shared chicken meal ……….She’s not limping, just trying to drag the dead Hare through the heather! So I meet her more than halfway, this is no time or place to bugger about. She’s blowing a bit, and is splashed with the Hare’s muck, like there’s been a struggle. I’m surprised it’s a Brown Hare, I expected a Bluey. Taken from: Just Getting Back Into It, http://www.thehuntinglife.com/html/section...ck-into-it.html Your Friend Google is. /Mad
  19. Not saying every farmer does this but you quite often find whole loads of shit burried in and around farms. Our garden which used to hold livestock and was lived in by the farmer was amazing. I found two, yes two butler sinks buried in the ground and that was just for starters. Probably an old car blocking the signal /Heds
  20. ooh yes please. Will PM you for furtehr details
  21. We have rock hard clay soil here (South of Dorking) and I am not looking forward to digging deep. /Mad
  22. And surely that doesn't deserve such a harsh reply? I read loads of books before even joining here and have had the books (and I have quite a few) contradicted many many times. In fact, most of the books I have contradict each other. Would like to feel that I can ask basic questions here. /Mad
  23. But... if they help to dispatch the quarry faster and more humanely then why not? /Mad
