  1. Thanks Paul - she is mad as well!!! Steve - will pm you
  2. Thought I'd update you on the lurcher pups and how they are getting on. These are the 3 survivors of the litter, the rest died from suspected Canine Herpes Virus. Firstly, our pup, Reeba. Now 20 weeks old. Her basic training is coming on well. She sits on command, will fetch, drop close to us and at a distance, and kind of knows 'wait'. Her recall is pretty good too. Smashing temperement, a pleasure to own. But she is a thief. You can certainly tell she's her mothers daughter! Already stands at 22 inch to the shoulder. Her eyes are still pale blue, although one half of one eye has turned
  3. Paul - We had 2 young lads involved. Tom is 11 and Joe is 12. They seem to enjoy it. Been helping us out down there everytime we've been over the last couple of years. Good to have them out! shell
  4. We went on our twice yearly trip down to Lincolnshire this weekend to go ratting on our friends chicken farm. We took our Lurcher, our 3 adult Borders, and Tick the spaniel terrier cross. Our friend had his Border and his cross bred terrier. Arrived at the chicken farm and got to work. Straight away the dogs were marking under a stack of pallets. Atol (our lurcher) never lies, so after a bit of prodding and poking the first one is acounted for. Something among all this lot... Tick gets it! Ticks approx 12 months old and is turning out to be fantastic at ratting.
  5. I've got Borders and they get a handful of biscuits on a morning out on the yard then are fed their only meal at tea time. If feed was left down they'd end up fat as they put on weight very easily.
  6. Forgot to say, they are 7 weeks old this weekend, so are ready to go over the next couple of weeks.
  7. We've got some ferret kits for sale, all jills. Polecats and silvers, from good working parentage. Hubby has had the strain for about 20 years. Flesh fed and well handled. Near Skipton, in West Yorkshire. pm me. shell

  14. Thanks Moll! Tick (the black and white dog) is a Salford Council Estate Curr!!! No that's just where she came from!!! Her mother is 1/2 Jack Russell 1/2 Springer Spaniel, and her father is 1/2 Border Terrier 1/2 Springer Spaniel. Fantastic little bitch. Nims best mate, they do everything together. Temperement is spot on! Nearly 12 months old and is coming on great work wise. Oh, which mink hound pack is that pic of yours of? Malc used to whip in to the Northern Counties. Shell
  15. Go on then... some of my pictures... My little angel... approx 16 months old. She went round showing everyone the rabbit - the ferrets, the dogs, the chickens. She wouldn't put it down little monkey! Here again, with a ferret. Everythings a 'fert' these days. She's just gone 2 and is obssessed with the dogs and watching them work! My hubby with his hounds. We came here nearly 2 years ago. Malc cubbing. Jem, Malcs first lurcher. The best birthday present a boy could have! Bedlington Whippet. Me and Pendle (now as a pup. And me wit
  16. No kits for us... Got an infertile hob given a while back, called Chesney (don't ask!). Put him in with our 3 jills and he's lived there for a few months. All happy as larry. You can see where this is going can't you. Opened the hutch on Sunday and there's a litter of 11. Oh dear. Oh s**t. Another jill is pregnant, and we're not sure if the other one is or not. Great. Best bit... a mate of ours has 4 jills, all came in season at the same time. Well Chesney has been living in the hutch with them 4 for the last 3 weeks. Oh dear. Shell
  17. What a wonderful tribute to a wonderful dog. RIP Cass. Sleep tight. Shell
  18. What sort of kidney problem has the pup got? Just wondering cos my lurcher had a problem with struvite crystals a few years ago (they go on to form kidney stones) and we had her on medication and feed from the vets that was costing us £200 a month to keep it at bay. Anyway, after much research on alternative remedies, we found that giving her Vitamin C tablets daily it sorted her kidney bother out right away (also tried Couchgrass tablets and Thlaspi Bursalis - homeopathic - both worked). She's never had bother since. Just a thought depending on the actual problem he has. Might
