  1. Looks like there's a serval and ostrich near me but nowt else interesting
  2. Retrieves to the airgun so might get out a bit more roosting this year.
  3. I recently moved to a gundog from terriers and lurchers and I'm enjoying getting out and about for a mooch with the pup but the way they work is completely different to what I'm used to, spaniels seem to run around for the sake of it where my borders could kind of head straight for the scent. I was trying to decide for ages wether to go for a lab, gwp or spaniel and ended up with a mental cocker that was a lovely chilled pup at first so he duped me. This was my first family dog so that swayed us towards the cocker and I probably should have got something calmer although the rest are all
  4. My godsons mum has it and it isn't just telling people to F off and it's really hard on her physically when she's having tics and getting by in day to day life with twats judging her and being rude.
  5. The three I bred first round are now weaned off in their own cage.
  6. 2 of 5 that jumped yesterday. I've got another fee in nests now and just set 4 more hens off on their eggs so should get a few more in a couple of weeks.
  7. I'd cut the Christmas tree up and put a bit round each nest pan either side for a bit of privacy. They say to put all the nest pans at the same height and put more pans than hens in too. Good luck
  8. I'm ten years younger than you and it wasn't too uncommon to still see a few of us wandering around with dogs, guns, ferrets and our catch slung over the shoulder walking or cycling home but it would be a bit weird doing it nowadays no doubt some do gooder phoning the police. I've had some good conversations with people walking home carrying a few brace of birds and never any grief. I used to ferret the golf course near our town centre while my dad played golf and nobody would bat an eyelid but sod going on there now it would be all over facebook before I'd lifted the nets.
  9. I've got two 6x3 aviaries with a pair in each at the minute. I've had a few canary hens in at one time before and they bickered and fought over feeders etc.
  10. They must be knocking shite out of each other all together like that this time of year?
  11. Are they in cages or aviary?
  12. Have you not let the natives try and rear their own?
  13. I would have thought raza and fifes would be doing the job for you anyway mate but like you say if they're from untrusted sources they could be cast offs.
  14. Some lads keep their own lines of mongrel feeders but personally I don't think you can go wrong with irish fancies. I had bad luck with dimorphics for years but the past couple of years they've not really let me down. If they're squashing chicks like they aren't getting off is there something disturbing them in the shed?
  15. If you look close at the pic it looks edited around the neck area to me and surely if you were taking a picture of something you thought was unusually large there would be something for scale in there too?
  16. Do you not have to renovate it in a traditional way like using lime plaster etc? I love looking at old building with walls all over the place etc its character but I think living in one would piss me off.
  17. Not from the jill over cleaning them? I've seen kits with legs and tails damaged by the jill at birth.

    Smoking.

I know what you mean mate and I know a few lads who did the same as you and feel loads better without the fags but it's still got nicotine in so imo could easily fall back onto fags if no vape is available or their battery dies. I think the disposable vape are getting banned too which is a good thing as twats are chucking them everywhere.

    Smoking.

Best thing I ever did quitting, vaping and all that is still smoking to me.
  20. They're fine. Just jumped the nest and never used their feet to perch or walk on wire floors so legs like bambi at first.
  21. First 2 chicks of the year jumped today while I was at work so got my first proper look at them when I got home.
  22. Had extra help up on the platform this morning
  23. 11 month now the crazy little bellend
  24. I dunno about burning it but I've pruned enough of them over the years its a really soft wood isn't it. A treat to prune after doing oaks and beech
  25. Just reading back through this old thread and lads saying about the old working lines that haven't been mucked about with and crossed with angora etc I wonder what the ferrets that live wild on the Scottish Islands and been over there for donkeys years are like? Could be a way of resurrecting the old lines if anyone could get hold of them?
