  1. Why not let the pup tag along with you during the day, you'll find it will just follow you once it is tired. As soon as my pups are jagged I walk them with the other dogs, it is not as they are going to be running anything at that age.
  2. That's dogs mate. A young pup will bark if suddenly you and it's kennel mates leave it alone, think about it. Why don't you leave one of the other dogs with it ?, you only need one for lamping.
  3. Of course it's going to bark, you and it's kennel mates are leaving it alone it would be strange if it did not bark! Either take it with you or get someone to take it into the house while you are out. Also a thirteen week old pup is far too young for an anti bark collar.
  4. Yes all his books are very good, he knows his stuff :thumbs-up:
  5. Was it here? http://www.edinburgh-butterfly-world.co.uk/ I've been it's very good.
  6. Nice post - as Bootsha said it's obvious your going about things the right way, well done
  7. Yes, if the box has a lid and a small entrance angled away from the open door she'll be fine. It's not the cold that's the problem it's drafts.
  8. simple, in my book it's a BIG fault and one I could not live with.
  9. You better drop your price then you can get it on Amazon for £20
  10. Put it this way I've had a vasectomy but I wouldn't want to be castrated
  11. Yes they are Yew berries, poisonous seeds but the berry is edible.
  12. Very true, they also listen, my very first lurcher (pre locator days) would mark above where the ferret and rabbit were laid up, he'd scratch the ground above, he couldn't smell them so he must have listened, he was rarely wrong. I've never had a dog since who could do that.
  13. You can't really 'teach' your dog to mark. Take him out with you and if you notice it showing interest in a hole put the ferrets down IF they bolt then praise your dog. Never praise your dog if nothing bolts as you really don't want to encourage false marking. It is then up to you to spot the signs, my lurcher just freezes over a hole whilst my spaniel gently paws at the hole then steps back. Good luck
  14. I was walking trough soma Himalayan Balsam the other day and the seed heads explode their seeds out some distance, no wonder it spreads
  15. Still there but with all the comments removed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCjxi607i1o
  16. Where are you ? I'll give you the full price if your 50 miles or less away.
  17. Would you not be better waiting to see if the dog you bring over will be a good worker? I can't see anyone lining their bitch with an untried dog. Just a thought
  18. Spaying is not going to solve her aggression problem.
  19. I had an ex track dog that was originally sold for £5000, one of the many progeny of Larkhill Joe. However he was crap on the track and therefore he was given away. All greyhounds are pedigree but unlike your show Saluki the value is on how they perform, not how they look.
  20. What have you got against racing homes? Most people give away ex racers.
  21. Yes welcome to the world of the Saluki. I had a dog like this years ago I stopped it by calling her during the walk, giving her a bit of cheese, putting her on the lead for a few minutes then letting her off, repeating this several times, until when I wanted to go home I called her in and walked her to the van on the lead, I had to call her before she saw the van though Also if your taking the dogs out to the same place they know when the end of the walk is coming, I found that by walking new places she did not know when the end of the walk was and therefore came in quick to the lead.
