My sister keeps hers in the house. She says they don't smell - they do, she's just use to it! Also IMHO it's too warm for them in a house. Even when I lived in a 2nd floor flat I just rawplugged the hutch onto the side of the building, had to climb out the kitchen window to feed them and clean them out.

Well done Kate. I noticed your post about the dog being depressed, perhaps only lead walking has lead to this? A greyhound needs a good gallop. I've had two ex racers and I know you never know what they are going to do when you first let them off the lead but yours looks fine and if it was going to bugger off it would have done today:) As for small dogs are you basing your fear on fact or what you have been told? Most (but not all) are fine. What about socialisation classes, most areas have them. All the best Edited to say I would take that coat off when he is off the

Yes I had the same, looked like a snapped pencil, vet couldn't save it. So because the tail was so thin he had to 'dock' it to about four inches. Luckily apart from the appearance it never affected her working. Good luck edited to add you must get the dog to a vet, remember the tail is a continuation of the spine you don't want infection to set in!

Never measured mine but at a guess I'd say she was 13 inches TTS. Bred by a keeper nr Gargunnock and has a very good working pedigree. I was beating yesterday with her and one of the guns refused to believe she was a springer, his were the size of labs

And yes SOME KC whippets are a travesty, but to say all KC bred whippets are to be avoided is rubbish. Laguna, Nimrodel, Shalfeet etc all excelled in the coursing field. These KC breeders bred their dogs for the purpose they were intended for. And just for the record my last two whippets were not KC bred (although pure) and no I'm not a puppy breeder. What do you mean regarding the 14 posts in my first day? Is there a limit? I'd avoid KC dogs of any breed. I seem to have hit a nerve with you regarding the Kennel Club, you a puppy breeder yourself? Thanks for sharing with me your years of owning dogs, I know some people who have drove all there life, still can't parallel park if there life depended on it! Can't be arsed.

I've had whippets for 20 plus years, lurchers for 30 plus. You have been out with the wrong whippets, fact if I had a whippet that did as you say then I would not keep it for long. As for saying avoid KC whippets then that really shows you know nothing some of the best working whippets are KC bred. 14 posts in your first day of joining.
