  1. You are far too cynical for your own good ?. You have to take these films with a liberal pinch of salt. For an hour 1/2 you have to suspend reality and allow yourself to be taken on a fanciful journey. ??
  2. You think that’s bad ? How about an assassin with early onset dementia ! Sounds terrible , but was very good. Liam Neeson , like Sylvester Stalone , can still be watchable.
  3. I applaud you Ben . You are obviously someone who is comfortable in your sexuality, and cares not one jot what I or anyone else thinks . The rest of us are just a bunch of “ Tackleberrys “.
  4. It’s 2022 , and I think we should accept Ben , however he wants to identify himself . If he wants to parade around the fields with pink hunting accessories, then that’s up to him . ?
  5. The Welsh chap who had my Venison , converted his garage into a meat processing place . He had it all properly signed off by the council’s food and hygiene. He used to come up to Gloucestershire in his Dacia estate car and went back over the Severn bridge with 7 fallow in the back , the suspension was almost on the tyres ?. He does very well out of his sausage and burger enterprise. And I did ok . I had more sausages and burgers than all my family and friends could eat . And I managed to keep on culling. There are ways of getting venison used , we just have to try some different avenues .
  6. Hi Craggy, I’ve just got the wraith HD max . I got it with the wicked lights AR51 ir . It came with a quick release weaver/ picatinny adjustable mount . On the HD max the mount is on the side of the scope so when in transit or in the cabinet it’s easy to take on and off . The nightmaster IR also worked very well with the wraith .
  7. Another issue that we have faced is what to do with the shot deer ? During the whole lockdown debacle. I was talking to the game dealer I use and he had 5 tonnes of frozen venison that he couldn’t shift and wouldn’t take another deer , even if I gave it to him . Restaurants , pubs and hotels were his main outlet. Now things have opened up it’s slightly improved, but I was talking to someone the other day and I didn’t know this but nearly all the country pubs near me are up for sale and are struggling. They reckon that 70% of pubs are going to go to the wall in the not too distant future. Sim
  8. You have just confirmed what we have all suspected ??
  9. I noticed that pink thing near your rifle , is that there to show your affiliation with the “ Pride” movement? Or is it a foot loop for extra stability?
  10. Thanks Ben , Mobile shooting on foot is my Achilles heel . I seldom miss when I’ve got the Harris bi-pod up and am shooting off a vehicle. Also I’m no stranger to quad sticks and they are unbelievably stable when the fox is still and you can set up properly and use the fifth leg to really lock it up , but I also have found that tracking a nervous fox that is on the move is not ideal and it’s these foxes that I’ve missed off my quad sticks in the past because I have tried to push the quads instead of picking them up and reset them . It’s never been a real problem before , but I know as soon as
  11. What kind of accuracy are you getting from the tripod wolfie ? I’m thinking about buying one . But I just can’t see how one point of support can be that steady . Could you put a bullet in an 2” target at 150 meters ? Do us an honest non bias test . Walk around so that you are slightly out of breath . Then , quickly set up for a shot and put one shot on target. I have some homemade quad sticks but they have limitations tracking a moving fox .
  12. You never saw many? Or are these old pictures?
  13. I live not far from the Witcombe festival ( used to be the Witcombe cider festival) and the noise and people walking past and litter and pissing in your hedge , does my nut . But my kids love it . We get free tickets and you put up with it . It’s something for the young people to go to , and the organisers send out litter pickers to clear up .
  14. I watched it with the grandson and we enjoyed it . Stalone can still produce a credible performance IMO . It’s not amazing but it was Ok .
  15. Out again last night SL 3 foxes 0 . A while back I drove into a field that is near some “unfriendly “ houses and there is also a paddock with a couple of very flighty horses that start galloping around as soon as I drive in . One night I counted 5 foxes in that field . I thought “ you know what , I’m going to leave them , it will spook the horses too much and bring unwanted problems my way “. Fortune favours the patient, and I’ve been chipping away at their numbers in an adjacent field which is well away from horses and houses . I can shoot away with no problems . And so it was that last night
  16. I don’t think it’s a badger Stav , looks more like a roe doe . I reckon you’ve got a “big cat “ , where’s Greyman when you need him . He will be up there with his trail camera soon . ?
  17. I look forward to hearing your progress. I miss the early mornings, the best time of day in my opinion. However I won’t miss all the problems, like just about to go home at 9.30pm and realising that one of the pens had a pipe come loose in the hot weather and and I’d lost 1000 litres of water out of an IBC and have to get some in there before the birds get stressed and dehydrated. Or turning up in the morning to a fox kill . However when your shoot day goes well there is no finer feeling. I hope the release goes well . I always got a bit twitchy when I put birds to wood . I always
  18. I thought you’d be all dressed up for the “Notting hill Carnival “today ?
  19. Nice job . It’s a horrible feeling when someone has travelled for a shot , and all your places don’t deliver. I guarantee you will go around the next day and it will be like the Serangeti .
  20. I will end up getting a thermal . I’m waiting for the right deal to come along . Ie a young keeper to get sacked and split up from his Mrs , then I will swoop in with some cash . Does that make me a bad person?
  21. I got the Scott country package that included the wicked lights IR and mount . I tried my old Ward ir and Nightmaster and the Wicked lights has the edge . It’s a definite improvement on my old pulsar 970 lrf . I would have liked a second hand drone , but they are like rocking horse poo . I was toying with the idea of a thermal scope , but couldn’t bring myself to part with the money. I’ve been out with an XP 50 and it’s the bollocks . The Wraith is a capable scope at easily 200 metres + which my pulsar wasn’t, even though I shot them at 250 meters , the target was small
  22. I know what you mean , but I cover a large area, and I’m in and out of lots of different fields . Also I’m kind of just making the most of hard ground and stubbles. I will be on “ Snanks’s pony “ soon enough, when the ground softens up .
  23. You can come here for an evening, I can chauffeur you around. I don’t believe in working too hard ?
