  1. Check out the experts on game cocks on this forum. You like Ko- shamo for prize cards and I like gamefowl so we live in different worlds. The build would be right if it has blood from Latin American asil as they are not selected for endurance but for Positza (and exhibition for Argentino asil). You tell me the land of origin and I will tell you the rules and type of build of gamefowl you will have.
  2. 19 week old son to the above going to Malta.
  3. Old proven shamo brood cock, father of the above year old stag and some of this years, some of the sons are of to Malta.
  4. Same strain as young black stags @ a year old.
  5. If your chicks or poults have good genes, good husbandry, good food I've yet to see a difference if done properly. Its OK if your a small/hobby breeder with a dozen or so chicks here or there to rely on broodies then do what works best for you.
  6. So all those red eyed shamos in Japan, black eyed Gaichons in Thailand and yellow eyed asil in Pak/India etc are not pure? Having a Pearl eye does not signify purity. If you exhibit them surely its type first - But poultry exhibitions are not my world and standards and clubs mean little to me.
  7. Foxdigger, I breed best to best by single matings from mainly two families. You are never far from the truth. Inbreeding is a method for big breeders. You need to breed a lot and a hen that is broody isn't producing and asian fowl aren't as good as laying as the english birds etctera, and after my final selections I will maybe keep a dozen.I keep a stud book with all my breeding experiences.
  8. I hatched over 200 shamos this year under incubators - no twisted toes.
  9. Hello Andreas, you live in a great country! Anyway maybe it would be easier for you to find guys that work Patterdales in Denmark and northern Germany as they have more legal quarry than what we sadly have and see what lines they imported from UK - I heard that many that imported Patterdales prefer them to their native Jagd terriers for badger etctera. Wish you luck.
  10. Thanks slips, half brother bull stag to the three black stags above.
  11. Just saying what I see after seeing some dodgy replies on here. Looks to have those Milner bloodlines in it, so not my cup of tea for an english fowl except if you like to win a 20p prize card.
  12. Japs @ 7 months old from my heavy weight line. Cuckoo stag is already 10lb and maybe make around 11.5lb and half sister below is already 8lb and make a 9lb + hen.
  13. Japs @ 17 weeks from my 9lb to 10lb family.
  14. Asil from Pak, India or whatever can have Ivory or yellow legs, pearl or yellow eyes - Just depends on the imported working strain. Why does everyone seem to quote exhibition standards on here?
  15. Does it really matter about eye colouration on a gamefowl?
