she looks more than ready my lads still gonna be young over the season but im expecting a couple of runs here and their next year for him really abit of ferreting for him mainly i think been getting a air arms rifle for ratting was hoping to get last night but theirs plenty of time atb with the dog mate.
Yup. it was bud PM me if you think you know them, lol
no i was just having a look for another thought about one of these but having a 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy already ive decided against it mate went an got an air arms tx 200 instead and some ferrets atb with the pup mate.
been out for five hours today knocking and talking to farmers and landed three lots of land to work with dogs fantastic start and restart to mine and me fathers lurchering adventures more yet to come hopefully just wanted to post to show other lads coming into the game it is achievable to get out their and get permission if its gone about in the right way happy hunting.
we have dogs which are fast and great around cover with brains and stamina. And I'm sure you lads will have dogs with it all too I can't see why there is this big divide between English and Irish line's
but your forgeting about the hare
the hare is a different entity but we where running the hare for hundreds of years as well u know and the saluki is originally persian a good dogs a good dog anywhere and i live and have kids to an irish lass doesnt matter where the dogs from for me
a good experienced dog will do the job anywhere be it ireland, scotland, england, wales doesnt really matter for me the sign of a good dog is the ability to run the land its on.
me da went out with a lad from down country about 25 years he said it wasnt the best dog of the group but was the best striker hed ever had the pleasure to watch
what pup you got mate? any pics? age and game?
nearly six month beddy/whippet measured him today 18inches on the button nice length looking well and coming along nicely.
i agree with this jumping into a field on the lamp creates two problems the first how do u now whats in that field presently and it is very difficult to lamp the other field from the point u started the dog unless youre on the move with the lamp which ive never seen done fair enough walking on to a clapper but not while the course is on going
my pups coming along nicely a learning season this next year and then go from their looking forward to watching him learn his trade off the more experienced dogs half the sport has got to be the ability to fetch a dog along at a nice pace and reap the rewards.
just started mine on styes hes doing well start them young i try to make it an everyday agenda theirs nothing worse in my opinion than been out and watching a lad have to stop and lift his dog over every obstacle
