    so turns out the bitch isnt buddy x sonia. She's lady x scout. the scout thats out of leonard moss's match bitch to jason bradfords luke. Lady is full sister to forley cup winner heidi. And the sire which i thought was 3/8 deer grey is actually deer grey bull but not sure how its bred.

    thanks mate. just had a nice chat with paul roberts on the phone and hes cleared things up for me on the dams side. still wouldnt mind knowing about the sire aswell though.

    yes mate he's more than pleased me in his first season. Done everything asked of him and i probably pushed him too far for his age where i got so carried away sometimes. This will be the season that i find out how good he really is though.Been easy to work with aswell. Responsive to me, will run his quarry till he can hardly run anymore but at the same ive actually called him off a run a couple of times which shocked me. hes really soft mouthed with a perfect retrieve. Real clever runner, seems to change his style with every run to suit the situation. Hes got an impressive strike aswell. soun

    yes that chart just shows half of my dogs breeding. The fella up north that posted this chart must own a dog from the same litter as my dogs dam. Ive pm'd cocker cos i think he runs a bitch from that litter which i believe is the bitch that had the pups for sale from. Does that make sense now? Don't think ive explained it very well

    I don't think doubling up 3/4 times would make much of a difference ?? We've all done it i did think it would of either. rescued a whippet grey yea and a half ago. It was shit but on the rare occasion that it did catch it retrieved nicely even though it was hard mouthed. his overshooting was so bad that i thought id double him up with my little dog to see if it would help. caught 5 rabbits that night, the little one caught the first 4 and they had a tug of war with them all. the whippet grey finally catches the fifth rabbit and the same thing happens. That dog has never retrieved again. n

    i had the same worry with my dogs first night lamping. caught 2 and let them both go when they squeaked. Never done it since though so i wouldnt wporry too much if i were you. You do get dogs that wont pick up at first though but a few real easy ones should sort that out if you know what i mean. Good luck with it

    Cheers monkey, found the phil fella that owns that bitch on here and sent a pm. asked the fella i bought the pup from what was the name of the man that bred the dog and he said phil so something adds up. hopefully shed some light on the breeding for me

    used to have a mooch with a geezer with a first x saluki whippet and that was 25 tts aswell which i found strange cos ive heard of a fair few that size. But all the saluki whippet greys i know of are tiny in comparison. His dog Jed was a real plodder, didnt seem to have any of the whippets qualities

    I've got a rescue. Pretty sure he's mainly whippet grey. i reckon hes between 3 and 6 years old. Hes keen to please, obedient, great with the kids, quick as feck and fearless but has a lot more downsides than my other 2 that ive had from pups. He's got awfully low stamina, worse than your average whippet grey. He is beyond help around stock of any sort, but his worst trait is his ability to pick rabbits up. took a whole season of perseverance just to stop the wild overshooting which he doesnt do anymore. He'll be all over every rabbit you slip him on now but always somehow manages to keep miss
