That aint a lurcher it sounds like an acidental mating and a mongrel any sighthound cross is classed as a lurcher nowadays, but yes that is what happened. an accidental mongrel got raped by a whippet

Its called opinions bud......everyone wil have one if you put up a topic. Not everyone will agree with you either. I laughed at your posts because i found them funny. You obviously love your wee dog and have it on some kind of pedestol.......you do know that if your mates lurcher wanted to catch it or run away from it they could...very easily indeed. Try not to take everything to heart.... Youre right, when hes chasing them he also cant catch them cos they run in a straight line and after 100 yards theyve got 5 yards on him. but they CANT catch him! he out turns them every single time with

Why are you after such a specific breeding mate? What is it you want from the dog? Any why no greyhound? Gaz Well its not entirely for hunting purposes if im honest as ill only get out lamping twice a month tops once i start and i know there isnt many lurchers that cant catch a rabbit. Im not trying to break any records just want me and my dogs to enjoy ourselves. The main reason is that you dont hear abiout any. Id just love to have a really unique lurcher but i love all 4 of the breeds i want in the dog. Ive got nothing at all against greyhounds infact i love them, want a purebr

Im new on here, recently developed an interest in lurchers and sighthounds after realising i owned one. joined thl cos i thought thered be a lot of experts willing to answer my questions. ive started one forum topic and althought there were 1 or 2 helpful members on there, most of them seem to be on here for no other reason than to insult new members and cause arguments? I like a row as much as the next person but thats not why i joined here. has anybody else had this problem? think its due to my dog not fitting in with what most people think a lurcher should be

Well, I think you are on a wind-up; but to answer your question, (I think), you need Greyhound in Lurchers as a base breed simply for the speed. If you aint got speed, you won't catch much !! I aint on a wind up. lol. im obviously from a different planet to you lot tho. seriously tho, thanks for trying to answer my question. how much slower than a greyhound is saluki or a whippet then? wouldnt of thought there was too much in it?I know none of you will ever believe it but my dog is very fast! hed obviously be no match for a greyhound in a straight line but believe me when i say hes quick!

If you aint got speed, you won't catch much !! and i'l add to that. maybe the reason you don't see the cross your after is 1 people only breed/ buy what they know works.. so untill someone has a f*****g cracker of a dog,, things will stay the same.. 2 they've never been any of the said crosses worth breeding from.. 3 whippets are fetching 350 a pup so why would someone stick it over some mut when they can make £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££ fr

f**k me i only came on here to ask a simple question, i didnt realise id broken some kind of secret lamping code by saying id let me PET try and catch a few rabbits. Maybe i didnt make this clear enough for everyone. As with my mates whippet and bull/grey, my dog is a PET! hes happy being at home with his family and hes happy hunting animals. I bought him as a pet! not the ultimate rabbit catcher, otherwise i would of bought a pure f****n whippet wouldnt i!!! And obviously nobody can answer why you dont see saluki/bulls or saluki/beds. Considering youre all so f****n strict over what is and w

Would do if i had one lol. mine is half whippet, half yorkshire terrier x chihuahua. Sounds ridiculous i know but i think hes gonna make a great rabbitting dog. I walk him every day with my mates 2 dogs, ones a whippet the others a bull grey. believe it or not hes only ever so slightly slower off the mark than the whippet but turns quicker and seems to be quicker top speed. hes quicker than the bull grey off the mark but not top speed but turns her inside out and has double the stamina. hes also so tough, the bull grey smashes him to pieces when they play, throws him about 6 foot in the air bu

Yea I know there's plenty about saluki/greys or bull/greys but I don't understand why there arent any without greyhound in them? What I'm after is saluki x bedlington x bull x whippet, no greyhound. Not fussed about which way round theyre bred. either a bedlington whippet over a saluki bull or a bull whippet over a saluki bedlington?

Im new on here and new to the world of Lurchers but since I got my one I've become obsessed with them. I'm thinking about getting a companion for him and have a rough idea of what I'm after. I've spent hours upon hours reading about peoples different Lurcher types and viewing the pics but I've noticed there are a few crosses that I can find nothing nothing about. such as a straight Saluki x Bedlington or Saluki x Bull? Does anybody know why this is or where I can find any information about them??
