  7. hi all! I went to a friends house for a bbq last night and a ferret walked into the garden! well the kids managed to talk me into keeping it and they have now called it dave! the thing is it is in a poor state and quite under weight. what I was wondering is is there anything I can feed him to pack the weight on quickly? at the moment he is having a bit of cat food and bread and milk as I wasn't really prepared for daves arrival. as I speak I am cobbling a hutch together out of an old rifle box(thanks kids).I would be grateful for any advice cheers rob!
  8. I once put some empty condom wrappers in my mates coat pocket! when he pulled them out at home it didn't go down very well with his missus!
  9. Before i jacked in the driving i used this road on a daily basis and if i had a pound for the times i nearly wiped a cyclist out i would have a fair stack of cash! Why a cyclist would want to ride on this road is beyond me! But when they ride 2 abreast in 70mph traffic they are just aking for trouble! I know the law states they are alowed on there but it just isn't safe!
  10. No never done any samworths stuff. Main clients are Malcolms and various DHL contracts... Now that you have said that, I can't stop seeing f*****g Samworth lorries on the road. Food work is it? I did a couple of shifts for Iceland Swindon when I first moved down here. £9.50/hour no matter what time of the day or night. I hate pushing cages about, they always seem to topple on me... yeah mate all food! we only used cages on Tesco backloads and I agree cages are shite cos theyre fookin dangerous!
  11. when I say southwest I mean cornwall and devon! Bristol is another country to us down here! do you ever work for(through the agency) samworths mate? that's who I was working for and you would know how badly that place is run down in cornwall!
  12. if you get your adr and if you're lucky enough to get a job on the tankers you can expect to earn 40k. but as stated its dead mans shoes im afraid. just look on the job sites and you'll see that the midlands is the place to drive class 1 and 2!wages for drivers down here in the westcountry are shite for the job that you are doing!
  13. give em your card and its payed straight into your account!
  14. Westy76 i really do feel for you bud! Ive just taken a huge pay cut ditched my health cover, pension and 28 paid days holiday a year to go labouring for a pittance but im a whole lot better off!
  15. The other problem we have now is the high number of foreign drivers driving british registerd vehicles! The standard of these drivers is very low! For instance we had a polish driver in the yard who couldnt couple up and then he asked me how to adjust his seat and moments later asked me how to get to bristol which is where he had come from! So when you see a british truck it doesnt mean it will have a british driver! Morrisons for instance has a very high turn over of foreign drivers!
  16. can anybody tell me what the chatsworth show is like? is it worth traveling up from cornwall?
  17. after ten years of class one driving ive had to give it up! what with the 15 hour days poor pay poor health and a constant supply of idiots screaming abuse at you for no reason other than obeying the law I couldn't take any more! the reason as stated before that hgvs seem to cause accidents is because the majority of car drivers don't look any further than the end of their bonnet! I beleave that all car drivers should be given some insight into hgvs when training to pass their test because the majority are clueless!
  18. well that's ten seconds of my life wasted!
  19. lets say big enough for two medium sized lurchers with a partition and two doors!
