Meindle Dovre Extreme are the best I have owned. Up and down many hills and in all sorts of weather, they have stayed waterproof and are comfy. The price you can get them on this site is also very good.

Use bikini covers. The only time you need to have them on is if you are going through brush or the weather is looking like it is going to be wet. Practice taking them off quickly and you will be fine in the field

I was a member on the site before but didn't use it that much. My interests are stalking (mainly roe and reds), vermin shooting, rough shooting and reloading. I use a 6.5x47, 22BR and a .308. All get used for one discipline or another and I reload for all of them. Look forward to using the site more.

Have a look on Macleods of Tain website, He can have good deals in on his second hand stock and it is always better than described. One thing though, if you are going to have good binoculars, you will need the scope to match. It is pointless being able to see deer through the binos and cannot see them through the scope due to them being lesser quality.

Have a look at the stated MV from Norma, then compare that to what the chrono gave. That would be a good starting point. Try a different manufacturer of cartridge if you can get one and compare the results before panicking. Where are you shooting Scotland / England? The laws are different so you could compromise depending on the species you are shooting. You may be able to drop the bullet weight and get the results you want as the bullet weight in England in not so much of a factor as it is in Scotland. I also stopped using Norma cartridges years ago, they are poor performers. Unf
