    i will mate and i whuld never usualy put a dog in a stop end but with her failing to find it i wanted her to see what was in the earth what she missed she been coupled up next to plenty of digs and been allowed to wory at least 15 - 20 carcuses also she wasent in season on the previous failure to find i think ime just comparing her to my other bitch to much as she self enterd and takes it in her stride i struggal to notice my oldest bitch mark she dosent get exited or give me any clues just walkes up and enters if ther sothing home or turns around and walkes if empty shes never even enterd

    thanks gobshite i dont no what to expext as ive had a small bit of messing with this bitch she was more intrested in digging mole holes out than going to ground last time out ive had her to ground on a coon when she was 10-11 months for 20 mins she shown and was picked up and held back to this season then she failed to find a badger this season in a sppot what looked easy when we dug it with another dog it was very big and deep so i was kind of glad as the dig was to much for a pup i shown her he quarry in the stop end for a cuple of minites and she done good with that i think i may have o

    i spent a good few hours last night resherching it bobby and it seems it can affect young jabbed up pups to think its just one of them things also found out it took my freind a cuple days to clean the house before he chuld move in was a nice house but pakistanni famlie lived there before him and it was full of shit

    think it was parvo lying dormant already in the house it was a horrible death it can be bypassed in the future by never taking a pup there again and by making transport arrangements before purchasing a pup it must be devastating to lose a litter you have reared and looked after yourself longdogs

    is there any diffrence in working ability or attitude towards work ? my youngest bich in season,, its her first time she to be enterd for real work will it affect her? i noticed this week she been a little quiet ime hoping she will change when ] in the field in a few days as this season it crucial i get her going

    he only lived there for 6 months if that, his dog got ill the first month ov it going there ther but is a bit older and pulled threw we thought nothing of it the second one died within 40 hours of it going there we put it down to being a weak pup as it was quiet small but this ones been there for a few weeks and was no way shape or form a weak pup it was in perfect condition up untill the day it died

    thanks mate i think its parvo of what i have resherched up to now but still not sure it was a toatal break down of a perfectly healthy pup in 24 hours

    he went from a strong fine healthy livley pup to dead in 24 hour,, gutted was getting reports on this pup evry few days he was a little terrorist into evrything was proper looking forwards to meeting him my mate who he was for here is ill with it the first 2 pups hes ever owned died before he got to see them said hes not even gonna get into it now and is taking it as a sign any one got a idear as to what is happening the only thing i can think of is the new house is riddled

    well about a hour after i posted on this thread yesterday i got a call of my mate in the uk who was holding the pup till i chuld get him over (yoda) he said he not looking well atall seems stiff and cant move i called the most knoladgeable person i no in uk with working dogs he said bring him up quick so my freind abandond his christmas dinner with the famm and got on the motorway he got ther and was told it was his respiritry system and dehydrated hes struggaling to brethe he was given antibiotics vitiamines and somthing to block his stomach to keep him hydrated my freind sat with him all

    well said bobby thanks lads so here is what ime thinking now if the dogs there when you break threw and dose exactly as bobby just said whats the diffrence between a good dog and a grate dog ,,,editid to say i got my own idears on this just want to see what other lads opinions are

    thats what i do but how do you grade them ? coz up untill you break threw you dont see nowt you can hear them and you can see how far away or close up the dog is to the quary when the light breakes into the hole witch is a big part of it but is ther anythiing else whats important ?

    this is somthing i been thinking about latley ,,, lets say you got a good finder, and it sticks with the quarry tll you get there evry time, and is close up or takes a hold when u drop in,, how do you mesure the ability of the dog dis regarding the latter comments ,, ive heard on here a few times '"he never had that extra gere hen we broke threw" but thats job done for me ime happy with that,, just wondering what do you lads expext from your dogs apart from finding and staying close,, its so easy to lable a dog a goodun or a bad un but how do you actually grade it ???? happy chris
