  1. She has already done a fair amount of ratting and has taken a couple of groundhogs and a possum. She will go at anything I point to but just keep her mainly as a ratter for the barn where I have my gamefowl. Thanks. D
  2. Thanks Wrighty. Whats the breeding on your dogs in your avatar? Nice stamp to them. D
  3. Have already played the meowing cat track and did well. Skeeter dog ran out to them, never would of let a 15 lb terrier go on purpose. Keep latest dogs tight on a leash if coyotes are out! Thanks. D
  4. Hey Jawn, Sounds promising. Would definitely be interested in what happens. PM me if you like. Thanks, D
  5. Your right. Went out with my old cane corso bitch and got snatched up. Never would of happened if my "bulldog" had gone out as well.
  6. Yes mate. Inbred Gould stuff on top (pat), inbred scottish type JR on bottom. Will see how he works out. Acts promising... Thanks. D
  7. Absolute nutter! Lost to coyotes at 10 months.
  8. Half sister to my JR/PATT cross.
  9. Some guys here in the states will "freshen" up their lines every 3 to 4 generations with some "bull blood". Don't matter the color as long as they work! Keep your head up and see how the pup works out. Nice looking pup at least in my opinion. Best of luck. D
  10. Sounds to me like there are two separate issues being discussed regarding a "working terrier". Gameness and quarry. If you dig to a terrier that will stay with Charlie all day but walk away from Brock, is he still a working terrier? In my neck if the woods, some folk don't even consider Charlie to be a true test of a digging dog anyway. If he can't draw or stay with a groundhog, which btw can remove bits of a dogs face with surgical precision, he's no good. If he can't dispatch a coon on his own, he's no good. So what are we really discussing here? Your dog is a "worki
  11. I have a 3X APBT . If he snapped your dogs neck, would he be a terrier or bulldog? If he's a terrier, should I put him down for not going to ground? Then again, IF your black stuff has bulldog blood, are they really terriers? I have a JR bitch and patt/jack dog pup. Hard as nails and will do anything I ask. Still haven't dug to them, but in my mind their working terriers. D
  12. All breeds have there pros and cons. Like patt/jack crosses, patts or jack russells myself. If your keen on Plummers, be cautious that some lines have "fits" or seizures. Atb, D
  13. Definitely a different pup. They know it's a 4 hr drive. F**k them and let it go. Two things will happen. Bitch bred to was garbage anyway and the pups won't be worth shit or they will come to you hat in hand asking to breed again or paperwork. Not worth the trouble. What goes around comes around. Lesson learned, apply to next time.... Atb, D
  14. @jawn, That's a great looking jagd. How is he working out for you? D
  15. Wbt, Your hubby is lucky. Seen some great dogs on this thread. If I remember right, wasn't champion Stormer 1/2 EBT? For some reason, seems anything crossed into EBT produces super hybrid vigor. Does not surprise me that there are working EBT'S that need work on their "work". That being stated, they were bred to be show dogs. Have a friend in the northeast who is breeding "hard" EBT's (man stoppers). To me, that's the beauty of the bull and terriers. The good ones will do whatever it takes to please their master. Great thoughts and info on this thread. Yfis,

  17. After the rabies shot, 6 months old. Rats can be vicious and carry tons of disease. IMHO, D
  18. Thanks Lamp. Would I block the escape routes during the day and return in the evening?
  19. Hey folks, Have a 5 yr old jrt bitch and a 5 month old patt/jack cross. Bitch has done some ratting in the barn and dog pup is raring to go. My question is there a way to set up a barn for ratting? My bitch has got a couple but it's tough since the rats know the best escape routes. Any helpful hints would be appreciated. Yis, D
