Buzzards are lazy birds they will take rabbits but not hare .could be a factor but I don't think that the new found buzzard population is the cause of the demise of millions of well established rabbits

20x5=100 rabbits a week soon make a dent .had same on our perm took 10 years though 100+ then down to 70 ,s n 40 now not worth the time n diesel . greed
Depends if ya no what ya doing ,there's a lot to take into consideration .if ya do,then the bird should be feeding off ya fist in 3 days n flying free within 10 .you never truly man ya bird its sort of an on going day by day thing .
Foraging is OK for a hobby its vertually impossible to live off its OK for a suplyment to other stuff unless ya add caught prey . rabbit, deer,fish and so on. . the little book I recommend is food for free .part of the Collins gem collection

Most lads don't ferret in summer for a few good reasons 1; to give the bunnies chance to breed n restock the land 2; ferrets are prone to over heat if worked in hot summer months 3; ticks are wriffe in burrows and can kill ya ferret in no time if undetected 4; after a long hard winter graffting there nuts off ya ferrets need to rest n breed too
