  1. No it was was called moult stimulant from Dac-pharma, It worked very well at the start of the moult but I stopped using it when the weather changed for the worse and his moult stopped dead and nowt dropped for a fair while. a mate who also bought it reckoned his male gos moulted better and quicker using a mixed diet and clover honey. I wanted a quick moult to try some late summer corvid hawking, in hindsight I don't think it was really worth it and wouldn't use it again. As soon as he settled down with a good mixed diet his feathers were flying out. Alex
  2. Took a couple of quick pics today of the wee fella, his moult going nicely and should be done nicely in time to be tackling corvids in September to fit'en him up for a run at gamebirds from October onwards. I started him off on a moulting powder earlier in the spring and it seemed to be working well but stopped it when the temperatures nose-dived. Now on wood pigeon 4 times a week, quail 2 times a week and a bit of rabbit a day a week. left a set of jess's on him as he will happily come to the fist for food but only do it a couple of ties a week when I go in to clear away bones
  3. Fingers crossed, won't look it over till the crops are cut. Don't want to disturb nesting birds. Alex

  15. Hope you get your wish with them Tony, something I would love to try at some point is a longwing of some description, but only if my body and health problems will allow. Had a few lads down on some of my land who've flown longwings on Partridge and get told time and time again it's perfect for it, huge open fields with hedges bordering them and very few fences and power lines, one day, or at the worst trying to get someone to fly a good game bird (longwing) on the land. Alex

  20. Despite the heavy rain I ventured out and after seeing the first 2 farmyards with nearly a foot of standing water i almost gave up and came home. \decided to try one more which is on a wee hill so thought being elevated it would not have too much water, and thankfully it was OK. Sadly there was a poor supply of birds but managed 9 or 10, not checked the bag yet and a mad bunny which was chasing it's tail on a nearby bit of grass. So all in all not too bad considering the weather. Alex
  21. my once in a lifetime pic of Bow This bunny didn't know what was coming Roy Lupton and one of his Goldies (Baby) Maya female Harris which was a rescue bird i was given by the RSPCA, a lad i am helping out locally is flying her now and doing a grand job with her, I had 3 cracking seasons with her despite her tantrums. To be expected after spending her first year in a rabbit hutch! That'll do for now, will look through photobucket for some more. alex
  22. Here's a selection of my favorite photos I have taken. a wee male I had, sadly killed by a Buzzard. Jester had a top weight of around 1lb 6oz hunting and started around 1lb 4 1/2oz A female I flew for a friend for half a season, she was the gutsiest hunter I have ever seen. This female was bred by Angelo Canape and i imprinter her for a mate, tried to get a bit arty with this one. looks like the bird is on a wire, Rob Neville and Bow, got some more of this gos.
  23. No problem at all, both dogs have excellent pedigree, and because the black line in the dog is so strong the majority of the pups ended up looking pretty much black, even the one which were very white at birth. Only one bitch kept a bit of the white on her chest and front legs. Send me your email and i will send you some pics of the litter. Alex
  24. Good to hear things are picking up, when is the camp? If I am able to get up there will defo come, got to get help driving now as I can only drive 20 to 30 minutes before it gets unbearable. Other than that things not too bad. ATB Alex
