  1. That's a nice dog Tom what's its breeding ,collie bull greyhound?
  2. I've used a plr500 for 5 hours and not run out ,although it wouldn't have got much longer ,I suppose if you have the lamp on all the time you would get less. Never had any problems with quality, never let me down. I don't think there's a perfect lamp for anyone , for instance I'd never have a 240 I think they are cumbersome ,but for some they are the dogs bollocks , Find them awkward if driving and trying to lamp . Took everything with the 150 ,from rabbits upwards.. So have a look at every lamp you can because not all lamps suit everyone. Remember ....if you buy at distance ,it'
  3. Think he means light spill? Think the best thing to do ,regarding lamps is ask a few on here who are close ,to see their lamps ,as everyone likes different.
  4. That rings a bell lol I've a 1/2 brother here that's the same lol
  5. I'd just use quality oils in their diet, I enquired about the active ingredients and was told it's a substance that the body produces it's self ,so whether taking more will help I'm not too sure. Certainly won't hurt them though.
  6. Depends on your ability to train really then mate
  7. depends on what terrier really but i had a patterdale x whippet , was quick enough for a bolter but if it got much further, than a few yards it was away. she would catch birds now and then. I think theres better dogs for it though
  8. Get it sent back ,you shouldn't have to out up with that for a brand new lamp.
  9. http://www.pets4homes.co.uk/classifieds/1293086-blue-mini-jrt-from-generationsmuch-wenlock-much-wenlock.html Must say I was intrigued by these genuine blue Jack Russell's,amazingly they are pure old lines and not cross bred . Also available in chocolate . Pure rare blue and chocolate mini Jack Russell's count me in
  10. Nowt to worry about ,and you have him in fine condition
  11. All this why lurchers were invented is romanticism, nothing more nothing less. The average man couldn't afford a greyhound back then, they were gifts of royals and nobles .they probably got studs by any means possible . There isn't any linage from the lurchers of the middle ages to modern lurchers. So there's no point in trying to say lurchers came about from hunting laws . Greyhounds where also totally different ,as racing hadn't been invented. Greyhounds of the day were the equivalent of today's lurcher ,as they wasn't as specialized for all out speed.
  12. Roughly ,how much would a oair of these cost Max? I've seen some going for 2k
  13. The one I used is to start remote control cars mate Not done it yet,but the speed is there that you need http://www.kingslynnmodelshop.co.uk/p10670/JP_PowerTorque_II_12V_Starter-on_order/product_info.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=xigen_shopping_feed&gclid=Cj0KEQjwmri_BRCZpaHkuIH75_IBEiQAIG0rITuZBokmvPfZ22GwyQpfTCrY7eIRsENqH1mHVDGGltoaAmZS8P8HAQ
  14. yes it had a toe off pretty sharpish. The old fella used to rear greyhounds for coursing and racing and used them to hunt as well. Incidentally he hated lurchers called them lazy fuckers lol Some done well for a while. Try it let us know how you get on . I am willing to be proved wrong as I admire the greyhound
  15. There's lurchers out there that are very greyhoundy and would probably be a bit more robust But here you go...plenty pups here http://www.greyhound-data.com/litter.htm?land=uk&z=vUdIjN
  16. I have seen a few that worked ,and they had foot problems more often then not, That would have happened whether brought up as a track dog or a hunting dog. Really admire the greyhound, for their speed and drive ,but there lies their problem
  17. I know mate but you wrote that you had deerhound crosses that got hurt. So why increase your chances with a less robust and much faster dog. Depending on what you mean by how much for a good one.....it could be a couple of grand each
  18. I think there's a lot they can do ,but the injuries would be my main concern. Others maybe have the fear they won't hold up Lurchers can have terrible injuries ,and are a fair bit slower ,arguably will run smarter. I'd certainly pick thee runs on the lamp and insure them
  19. I think it depends on what and how you hunt and want the other 1/4 is,to decide on if they suit you
  20. just the job then,i bought a small 12v motor for £20 and a 12v battery think i saw one on youtube ,using a cordless drill and a fishing reel looked good tbh
  21. 240 is ok if there a plug in the middle of the field could try a 12v motor
  22. German wire haired pointers range quite a bit ,so I'd assume their crosses would do it to a degree. I'd assume also comes down to their trainingvas most would call back in if they range to far ,but working the hills you want them further.
  23. Some know the history of their dogs breeding back 30 years or more ,or know it's ,for instance, bull grey x Saluki grey ,so if asked or if they put a thread up they usually say that ,nothing strange about that. As that dog would be totally different in looks and temperament to say a 1/2 collie grey x with a bedlington whippet so I'd like to know what's in there .
