    To be fair it may take time and effort but im sure they would get some permission, some of my permission i have now i gained when i was 14 yrs old, i used to get round the local farms and knock on doors, always dressed respectful, none of this trackies and trainers, always spoke politely anyhow its funny how quick you can rack up permission when you have been on one spot in the area it is getting your foot in the door, Its always good to have a bit of common ground like when i ask for permission i will usually just mention i beat on whoevers and do pest control on wherever.     I think you have misunderstood the lads enthusiasm Lurch, The enthusiasm is for the dog not the killing/hunting He just loves this dog to bits and wants to do right by him. Personally i cannot see the point in him getting another dog just yet, he doesn't even properly know what hunting is and all it entails. He has just been mooching in nice fine weather with his little dog up to now. I'd say let him learn with this little dog, which i think might be all he needs in a dog and more from the sound of him Spot on moll

    I didnt read the other thread but i'm sure that kind of statement gets folks backs up.     i understand the point of hounds and to be fair i dont dislike it, i was trying to get a point across to leveller but i dont think i managed that. he said about people going to to kill foxes when not for pest control, i.e asked to do it, wasnt on or he didnt agree with it but accepted hounds. to me they are principally the same as not every fox the hounds killed was for pest control and i dont think anyone has the right especially in this game to condem another mans sport. Whether he has permission, is asked to do it or is just doing it for his own pleasure we as a hunting fraternity shouldnt
