    It's quiet funny because from what I can see he was an all rounder of epic proportions. My father bought a book of eBay and had a diary in it, the cover was used as a diary. Turns out was ldrs and it was an interesting read to say none the least mate.

    Shooting is more humane, quicker, easier and better for pest control. I love hunting with dogs but it's not the best method for anything but sport. People don't get into dogs for pest control so why would they get permission before the dog - look at corridor as an example. He's startin out because he loves his dog

    Can't edit because on silly phone but moll a you said you do it mainly for the dogs the same reason the people that don't have permission. The most effective method for pest control is a gun so why not shoot?

    Yes i can see your point regarding tradition/lurchers But i has gone wayyyyyyyy beyond that now, less land to hunt and a great many more people hunting, people do not hunt because they need the food any more, in fact most people do not hunt for any other reason than bragging rights So why do you hunt?

    To be fair it may take time and effort but im sure they would get some permission, some of my permission i have now i gained when i was 14 yrs old, i used to get round the local farms and knock on doors, always dressed respectful, none of this trackies and trainers, always spoke politely anyhow its funny how quick you can rack up permission when you have been on one spot in the area it is getting your foot in the door, Its always good to have a bit of common ground like when i ask for permission i will usually just mention i beat on whoevers and do pest control on wherever. Its all about attit

    I think you have misunderstood the lads enthusiasm Lurch, The enthusiasm is for the dog not the killing/hunting He just loves this dog to bits and wants to do right by him. Personally i cannot see the point in him getting another dog just yet, he doesn't even properly know what hunting is and all it entails. He has just been mooching in nice fine weather with his little dog up to now. I'd say let him learn with this little dog, which i think might be all he needs in a dog and more from the sound of him Spot on moll
